mkrupar - thank you! I've been waiting for ages to be able to pull that one out! lol
lynda - So sorry about the bad time at the restaurant. I worked in the service industry for a while, and that's just not right. I know that as a customer that can totally blow the whole mood of the night.

Yeah that is pretty much what I thought. Remembering Robby
I started it then got side-tracked. DH and I had a rare, last minute night off together. Decided to go out to dinner at a place we have never been to. We sat for 15 minutes and not one person acknowledged us. Then we left.
I decided to actually email a comment to the restaurant. I even pulled the "DH is the chef of 'x'" card. Yep. It's a small island, the chef knows who he is and will not be happy that not one person approached our table and then when we did leave, no one noticed. If we are treated this way, who else is.
for the record we do not expect VIP treatment. But there was no one at the hostess stand, when we finally saw someone they said we could sit anywhere. We did and no one acknowledged us sitting there. Those are just basic things, not something you do for just VIPs.

I'm waiting for H to get off the phone with his dad so we can watch a movie. I got 2 dresses for $60 at Marshall's earlier, so I'm happy about that. Not drinking now though, because I have a headache and took some ibuprofen. Probably shouldn't mix it, especially if I want to stay awake to watch the whole movie.
I worked in a restaurant for a bit and it isn't that hard to give good service to people. I complain about service when I am out. I am not the annoying customer that doesn't realize there are other people besides us, but it isn't hard to say, "I will be right with you."
No wine here. Just relaxing after running around all afternoon. I'm really uncomfortable and the contractions are hitting more often but still not often enough to go to L&D.

I'm still drinking coffee, trying to finish up an article tonight so I get tomorrow off. Sunday I'm on my way to NYC for a conference for a few days -- I can't wait. I miss my city so much and I'm so psyched to get to spend a few days and nights there again.
Hey Lynda, I was visiting your island last week. We stayed at Secret Harbour -- not necessarily the place I would have chosen (DH's parents invited us to join them and they made the plans). I would typically go for more of a full-service all-out resort, but the beach was great there, the rooms were nice, and the restaurant surprisingly good. DH and I only left the resort 2 nights for dinner somewhere else.

I totally planned to contact you and ended up with the flu for several days before we left, which completely knocked me out.
