What type of hair accessory to choose?

So for my hairstyle I think I am going to go with a low bun or a low bun slightly off to the side. Nothing too tight, just sort of loose and whimsy. I also have longer side bangs. I don't want to wear a veil so I am trying to decide what would look good with that hairstyle. I don't know if a small tiaraish headband would look good or not. Also thinking about a fancy comb or a flower.

Re: What type of hair accessory to choose?

  • I like a fancy comb tucked into the bun, something that coordinates with your jewelry. if I wasn't wearing a veil, I would do this:

  • I think a flower would look nice.  Agree that a tiara might not be the best choice with a low bun.

I love Project Wedding photos - here are some hair ones to look through for ideas - love the flower look:

  • I'm actually using that same inspiration pic.  I'm doing a low veil below the "bun" that's on velcro so it will be easy to remove for the reception.  And, rather than the little bead-y thing, I have a set of 3 small flowers coming from an Etsy seller.  I'll let the stylist do with them what she thinks will work best.

Dresses may be easier to take in than let out, but guest lists are not. -- kate51485
  • Squirrly: Can you put up a picture of the flower things you are talking about? I'd love to see them. Are they a type of pin or barrette?
  • I wore my hair sort of like what you are thinking.  I got some flower hair pins off Etsy to put in my hair.
Here is a pic, more in my bio...

  • PIB--LOVE my hair piece, but it's big, so you have to be sort of bold! :)
  • I'm having basically the same hairstyle, and I'm doing a flower comb.  It's not going to be a flower exactly, but 2 small fowers with little jewels to coordinate with my dress.

Then I'm having a veil come out from underneath.  They'll be 2 separate pieces, so I can take the veil off for the reception.
  • I'm going for the same sort of thing. I want something classic looking, but sort of loose. I don't want my hair plastered to my head like a prom-do, so I'm thinking low chignon with the veil underneath and the hair comb. I've actually already got mine.

  • I'm also doing a chignon bun, and bought my feather flower from jennypickle on etsy.com. She made 3 mock ups for me to choose from after we talked. But there are many sellers on etsy that may have something your looking for Good Luck!
