So I know most of you couldn't care less but I feel like I need to vent or I'm going to beat the crap out of my dog (not literally).
She is not allowed on any furniture. Period. Every so often I'll let her on the couch but she has never been on the bed. She has 2 beds, a blanket and pillow. She had been getting into things and chewing while we were at work (bathroom garbage, books, DVDs) and now we lock her in the bedroom during the day. We were worried she would sneak up on the bed so I put long sheets of foil along the perimeter of the bed to keep her off. Works great.
Friday afternoon I came home to find that I forgot to put the foil down and she is quite comfortable - her sleep number is a 55. I yell and push her off and go eat lunch. I get up and she's on the freaking bed again!! B*tch!!!
So today I'm home sick from work and I get out of bed to lay on the couch for a while. Only like an hour later I go into the bedroom and this hore is on the effing bed. But not only is she on the bed, she had horked all over it and was trying to clean it up before I found it. I'm flipping out and yelling at her and she goes to her crate before I even tell her to.
Down comforter goes to the cleaners and the sheets are in the washer. A tiny bit had soaked through to the mattress itself, which angers me the most because we JUST bought this sleep number a few months ago. I've been bugging FI to go with me to get a mattress protector but of course, we haven't gone yet - totally my fault. I was able to unzip the bed and clean it from both sides and it's totally fine, but I am not. I'm irate.
Edna will be in her crate until her father gets home. And I will take one extra pain killer and hope to calm down. Thank you for listening to me ramble. I kind of feel better and I hope the image of me flipping out while a gigantic dog lounges comfortably on my bed made you laugh internally.

Re: NWR: So mad I'm shaking...
I have a bad feeling this is going to be a tug of war for you, as long as the dog is alive ;-)
FI and I want to get dogs when we have a house. . . 2 german shephards, perhaps. FI loves, loves LOVES to wrestle and lay on all furniture with dogs. .. couches, chaise lounges, beds, etc.
I love dogs, but I don't think I want them on the furniture all the time, especially not the bed. FI says then it's not fair to allow the cat on the furniture or bed. . . I thikn this may be one of our first fights after we marry!
Good luck!

[QUOTE]Your dog is very cute! It took me forever to figure out that your picture was of an upside down bulldog type dog. . . at first I thought it was a rabbit with something going on with its poor head! </div><div>Haha, yes, that's my big-headed American Bulldog upside down. :)</div><div>
</div><div>I love this dog to pieces but she was FI's idea and I made it clear that an animal would never be on my furniture. Anything that does not use toilet paper or wear underwear is NOT allowed in my bed. And part of the reason why I don't like cats is because you can't control them...like at all. LOL</div><div>
</div><div>Yeah, stage, I know - she didn't get into things often and it was more often in the summer when she couldn't be outside much since we had such a hot summer. We would try to walk her super early in the morning and late at night but even then it was too hot sometimes. She gets walked twice a day and goes to the dog park or FI's aunt's (with 4 dogs, any number of foster dogs and a fenced yard) like 4 times a week now. I think the recent fascination with the bed is our smell in it. We gave her an old pillow of ours and she LOVES it. But she's had it a while now so I think our stink has worn out. We give her dirty t-shirt to sleep with and she loves those too. She's pretty well trained, but we thought about going back to training classes just to stimulate her stupid brain. She loved training classes...</div>
[QUOTE]If she's getting into things and chewing things up as well as the furniture misbehavior, it sounds like she's bored or otherwise unhappy.

Okay.
I legit thought it was a cat inside some pantyhose...
Pretend it's a cat's head that is face up. The upside down bulldog's mouth are the cat's smushed ears. The eyes are normal. The perfect vertical wrinkle leads to the cat's "nose" and the perfect horiztonal wrinkle is the cat's "mouth." The part on the left (that is clearly an upside down bulldog's ear) was a cat's arm in my head.
I like to see things that aren't there, apparently.
[QUOTE]My dogs sleep on the bed with us and have their own places on the furniture so I have trouble relating here but I also LOL'd about her sleep number. She probably thinks she's human!

Yeah, this. All three of our dogs sleep in bed with us. They're closed out of the master bedroom during the day because our Corgi puppy, Freya, kept stealing things off of the nightstands and dragging them around the house, but otherwise, they have free reign. They play with each other a lot, and that definitely cuts down on the destruction.

<div>I have no advice to the original post (ALL of my pets are spoiled brats - by my own doing because I'm a sucka, yes), but now that this has been pointed out I can't UN-see a smushed cat face when I look at that picture. Its still super adorable, but in a <u>very</u> different way now. LOL.</div>

THANK YOU!!! I'm so glad someone else can see it!
I can't really help other than my dog has had surgery on 1 leg and she gets really stiff she stretches A LOT but she loves her crate! I was really worried after everything (once she was recovered) that having her stay in the crate all day would be bad for her. Our vet said she was fine to be crated and recommended fish based foods (she is still a puppy - only 2 but later said we would need to put her on some meds to help with the stiffness). I'm sure you have talked to your vet but just thought I would throw that out there!
Hope you feel better!
Have you tried leaving her with a Kong or two? I know you said she swallows bones, and I definitely wouldn't leave her with those unsupervised but Kongs are virtually indestructible and they even have extra strong ones for strong chewers. We fill hers with her kibble, some cheese (which she loves) and freeze them so it takes her longer to work through and keeps her occupied during the day. Not only does she love them, but it made her separation anxiety issues disappear since she only gets the Kongs when we leave and she looks forward to it.
