I am planning on a low heel for a few reasons:

    - FI and I are almost the same height as is, so I don't want to look taller than him
    - I don't tolerate heels well to begin with, so I don't want to trip over myself or look like a fool who can't walk
    - I want to be able to keep the same shoes on without worrying that they will hurt etc, so the lower the heel, the less likely I feel this is going to happen (just for me personally)

Although I have to say I have found some gorgeous shoes in taller heel height...

I'm actually wearing shoes with heel height that is shorter then what I normally wear.  I figure I'll be on my feet more than normal so I hope they are comfy!

For the ceremony, I am looking at about 2-3 inches.  FI and I don't have much of a height difference probably he is 2-3 inches taller than me.  Also, I can't wear anything over 3 inches without being in pain right away.  I will probably go with a shorter heels like 2.5 inches for ceremony and if I can afford my Manolo Blahnik for the reception, that one would be 3 inches.

Since you guys have a good difference, I would say go with 3 inches, if you would be comfortable with it for the reception and dancing, if not lower would be better or you can keep some flats nearby and change into it for dancing....the possibilities are endless.  :)

I am wearing 3" heels. FI is almost 1 foot taller than me! I am just wearing some ballroom shoes I already had. I usually cannot tolerate heels, but these have so much cushioning for dancing and are very comfortable. Here's a pic!

FI and I are exactly the same height, and I hate being taller than him. I was hoping to be able to wear flats for both. My sari should allow for flats - I hope. But I have an ivory wedding dress (bought second-hand) to wear it for the reception to appease my grandmother, who is not so thrilled at the idea of me getting married in red. And that dress will require a heel height of at least two inches.

Thank you for your input ladies, I love my 3 inch heels but can only tolerate them for 2hrs about, but for wedding day I am going to go with 2.5 inches I think its a good idea since I will be on my feet all day!

I think if you can wear a heel go for it. Jeff is the same hieght as me so I wear flats all the time! I prefer a heel and wear one at work or when I'm not functions with him. Soon I'll be trading in all the heels for flats.

I'm 2 inches taller than FI.  I will be wearing flat Khussa/Jutti shoes.  I already have them and LOVE them.  They are so cute. :)

They are just like this one: http://www.maniktalaexports.com/images/juttis/jutti11.gif
