Help! Trying to find the PERFECT, BRIGHT COLORED, Bridesmaid dress

I am trying to find the perfect color bridesmaid dress for my July wedding.  Unfortunately, I am having a very difficult time finding a designer with the perfect color I am looking for.  I want the color to be very bright and vibrant.  I'm also finding that the color swatches, in various fabrics, are deceiving to the actual color of the dresses.   The best way to describe the color is to attach a picture.  I have chosen to use blue and purple orchids, and would like the bridesmaid dresses to be around the same color as the center of the flower.  I know it is not impossible to find because my friend Google, finds pictures of colors I like but rarely directs me to an actual site with a designer or color name.   Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks!!

This is the designer/color I picked, it might work for you...it's Jordan bridals "pansy"

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't read the part about you wanting to match the center of the flowers. Nevermind :-)
  • That looks like a DB Malibu to me. Colors seem to pop more on Satin fabric

  • I thought of DB's Malibu as well!

[QUOTE]Honestly, I'd put them in a dark blue or even black instead. Otherwise, those gorgeous flowers are going to be competing with bright, loud dresses and both will be diminished. JMHO

    This.

You should let the flowers speak for themselves, not compete with a dress.  By getting a dress the same color as part of the flower the flowers will not pop like they should.

  • Try looking at Bari Jay's color, Peacock. To get the most vibrant shade of it, look at their charmeuse fabric. Charmeuse is a very light weight fabric and is shiny.

I agree with PP's that if you want to emphasize the flowers, I'd choose a different color dress to make the flowers to pop against something that contrasts it. Black dresses would be pretty. Or if you want to stay in the blue family, you choose a much darker blue.

Below I've posted my bridesmaids in the chiffon peacock color. I wanted to emphasize the blue, and have the flowers colors accent it, so we went orangey pinks, peaches and vibrant green.

  • Honestly, if I had to wear the colored BM dress you are looking for, I would look pale as anything!  Would your BM skin tones be able to handle that color?

I agree with Stage that you should try to find a more nuetral color so the flowers stand out.  I did something similar with my girls.  They all bought platinum colored gowns and I had them holding green, orange, & white flowers.  The nuetral dress made the flowers standout, which was what I wanted.
  • I would go with the purple in those flowers if you want that blue to pop.  I actually chose David's Bridal "Sangria" which is more like a plum/wine color than purple, and I think that would look awesome with those flowers.   It's a complimentary color, closer to the dark purple/wine that is in the petals, and would let the flowers really pop.

here is a picture of my MOH in her Sangria DB dress.  Hope that helps.

<div>This! I was asked to wear this color in a wedding and with my olive skin tone it looked HORRIBLE. I looked like I was sick.</div>

  • Hi, I suggest you other colors.

I know one good site: JenJenHouse.com. I recently bought one dress from them.

It arrived on time as promised and seriously is amazing! I paid 100.00 for this dress and it looks like I paid 500 for it! So pleased with this purchase!

Also, recently they have an activity on their FB. You could go and have a look.

You could also see the reviews on their website first and then decide.
