Hair Trial... kind of disappointed....

Sooo, I had a trial run with my hair and walked away disappointed. The girl who did it is very nice and was recommended by a girl I work with. She used to work at a hair salon, but it went under new mangagement and she wasn't agreeing with the new manager and ended up leaving and is now doing hair from her house.

She was very unprofessional for the trial! She kept smoking while doing it, was having a cocktail while a friend of hers while doing it, and kept telling me I would have to remind her about my wedding!

She did do a wonderful job on it, and the girl I work with was in complete shock that I told her she was drinking while doing it. I would love to use her, but I'm very afraid that her credibility isn't very good. She's also thinking she could do me, all 5 of my bridal girls. my mom and my grandma all within the limited time frame that we have. I'm afraid too that she would come and not be able to do somebodys hair and then they get screwed!

But anyways, here's how my hair turned out!

My mom had the flash on, and it blinded me!

Don't mind the tiera, we put that on ourselves and it's not straight.

  • Your hair looks great!!  That being said, I think another, more professional stylist could replicate that style.  You only make one first impression and she chose not to make a professional one.  I'd be very nervous up until the moment she showed up if she was telling me "you'll have to remind me about your wedding".  I'd totally stress about it, plus I'd be pissed someone was smoking while doing my hair or makeup or whatever because I wouldn't want to smell like that.

I wouldn't be comfortable with her behavior or that she could get everyone's hair done.  Can you find a large salon that can accomodate your whole party and have everyone done at once, or at least maybe half and then the other half?  Since you have pictures of your style, all you would probably have to do is meet your new stylist, ask if she could copy the style, and you could likely avoid paying for a trial again.  I'd personally feel better going that route *knowing* the person will be there that day and that the entire party will get taken care of, and trusting her judgment based on a picture than booking the one you *know* can do the style, but may not even show, or finish everyone.

  • it's pretty, but it's also a fairly simple style that many others could replicate.

personally, i'd be terrified that my hair smelled like smoke, and that i'd have to stress about this woman's personality and professionalism. DEFINITELY not something I want to do on my wedding day!

i'd just drop her and look elsewhere.
  • That's a little scary.  Your hair looks nice but it's not worth the stress.  This trial was helpful because now you can look for someone more professional.
