Awww The Giver. I think that was a 7th grade book. I need to go back and read that. It's been forever. My favorite book from middle school is My Side of the Mountain. Has anyone read that?

Our last name starts with a W, so H thinks Wyatt Lee W** sounds like a good bull rider's name. Haha.
The Giver is an excellent book. Have you read Gossamer or Strawberry Girl by Lois Lowry? They're great, too. I read Gossamer outloud to my 6th graders a couple of years ago and they would beg me to read past the bell. ;-)

I haven't read any of those. Sounds like I need to do some Kindle adding!

Stacks, I'm so glad you really finally got your car back! I am dealing with some loooovely sciatic pain today which is the worst it's been in years. Just want it to go away. I LOVE MALBEC! There's a malbec rose' called Antis (I think) that I'm sorta in love with. I could pretty much drink it all day, and I normally hate rose wine. Can I just say that I'm totally jealous of you?
Haha thanks Cfaz. I changed it because FI complained about the other picture even though you can't see his face. He still hasn't gotten used to the idea that I have "internet friends" even though I have now met some of you IRL.
H and I saw a baby bag one day that said "Hank" - we thought it was a rough and tumble name and we were like "ew, who would name their kid Hank?" Well...it sorta grew on us and now whenever I get the "omg, I think I might be pregnant" panic attack every month or I have a tummy ache or whatever, H always says "It's HANK!!!!"
I dont actually think we're going to name our future son Hank, but you never know. Recently we've liked the name Jasper. H wants the kids first name to be William though, so he'd be William Jasper R*****. However, I think he'd go by Jasper - or else thats what Mama would call him lol.
I've always wanted to name a little girl Linlee (mix of mom's first and dad's middle name) but H knew a girl names Lindley back in the day who was a tramp so he nixed it - boo.
The Giver was on my reading list as a kid - I was always really bad about reading the books I was supposed to read in school - I would just fake my way through the tests. I was a bad kid. I guess I should give The Giver a try, eh?
Mr P and I have a hard time with boy names. I love, love, LOVE Connor, but when I told him... he laughed at me. Then when I pouted he said "Oh. I didn't think you were serious." Ouch.
Morning! We braved the Boston snow last night to pick up a few last Christmas items. Apparently plowing and salting the Mass Pike was optional. It was horrible at 7:30pm! Now I'd best be on my way to work. Only 2.5 more days until TEN DAYS OFF!!
One of the only books I remember really liking from a summer reading list was "The Westing Game" - I dont even know why. I'm totally not a mystery person. I think I've read it about 30 times.
I slept in a bit bc H got home late last night and I ended up staying up for him. I am going to get moving here so I can go out and get some errands and shopping done. Then I will just have to do some wrapping. Tomorrow I will start my baking...yay!
Hehe, Anna, that beer stein is bigger than you!!!!! And my FI is the same way - he keeps asking me if I have a pic of us in my sig because he sometimes sees other people's sigs in passing. He'll get over it eventually.

LDY, I think out of all the books I ever had to read for school The Giver is one of the best ones. And I actually read most of them. Except Heart of Darkness. That one blew.

It's a very common middle school read. We read it in 5th grade. And no jinx, I said it first <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />
Missy - H's best friends had a baby in June. Ever since then he never wants us to stay over there long because as soon as that kid starts laughing and giggling I start saying "I want one!"...of course if we stay long enough for her to start crying I dont want one anymore lol.
I babysit constantly, so I'm pretty secure with my current situation of playing with them for a while then giving them back to mom and dad. Eventually I'll want one to keep though lol.
I think we will end up with very traditional names for our kids. Like all of our kids will end up being named after English monarchs or something. After having my name mispronounced my whole life though, I am totally ok with giving my kids boring names. At least people will be able to say/spell it.
And yes, the beer stein is almost bigger than me. But I really really like beer.
I used to babysit a lot too, before we moved out of state for almost every kid in my class. Now, it seems like all my families either have an established sitter or they don't go out anywhere.
And I definitely know what you mean about the crying and all, that is the best part, when the parents come home and you can give them back without a permanent committment.

H likes non-traditional names, so we'll see when that time comes. I already have some in my mind, too.
