my wedding dress and shoes! ideas for jewlery?

I am wearing my mom's wedding dress, with a few alterations of course (taking off the sleeves)

I LOVE the neckline

and my fiance and I are going to be wearing converse in the wedding.  :D here are mine (you won't be able to see them when I am standing but you will when I'm walking.

what does everyone think? what kind of jewlery should I wear? I'm planning on growing my hair out a little bit, but no longer than chin length. does anyone have ideas for hairstyles?

  • Love the dress.  Your mom must be over the moon!  A nice pearl drop pendant with oval button pearl earrings (drops would get lost in the neckline) might work well.  Hope this helps.
  • thank you :) oh and do any of you ladies have recommendations on bras? what style should I be looking for?
  • I think with that type of neckline you should go with a necklace that sits close to the neck.

You may have to go straples or find a bra with the convertible straps. Victoria Secret carries some like that. The straps are even clear so if they would peek out they wouldn't be noticeable.

  • That is so wonderful you are wearing your mom's dress, she must be thrilled! :-)

I would definitely go with stud/button earrings. It would be a shame to spend all that money and then have them not be seen due to the neckline of the dress.

I would definitely go for a necklace that hangs a little lower, both because you can due to the neckline and to kind of compensate for the earrings.

I couldn't really see the back of the dress. Would a corset go up too high? That's what I wore and I would swear by it. I think I've heard of corsets that only go half up the back but still provide the support and boning in the front. If you have a low back, that may be an option. I hate strapless (non corset) bras personally.

P.S. Love the converse! I also wore sneakers, white ones that were decorated with blue and silver to match our wedding colors  FOB (the movie) style. :-) GL!

  • the back of the dress does go very high, up to where the collar goes in the front.
another issue I am having is that I can barely get it zipped! and it's not that I am too heavy for it either it is that I am apparantly built differently then she was at my age as my ribs are too wide and my chest is almost too big. I may have to have it let out but I'm not sure that there'll be a lot of fabric for them to let out. do I have any other options?
