I was going to pull out some peas from the microwave last night and in the process, pulled the handle off. The plastic just cracked and crumbled.

On the flip side, I feel this could open an important discussion with my husband over the merits of new appliances.

    Our microwave handle busted in a similar way about a year ago.  We just had to buy a new plastic door frame/handle for it.  It was about $30 or so.  The only thing is that each part, including the screws, is itemized.  We forgot a screw or two.  Luckily, DH had some in his toolbox that worked.
