• I wear crap.  Mostly because I feel disgusting on a plane surrounded by everyone's germs.  And then I feel like that outfit cannot be clean until I wash it at home.

SO. I usually fly in black yoga pants and a tank top and loose sweater.

I wear a nice shirt and nice jeans. My flights are not usually more than 2, 2 1/2 hours (one good thing about living in the midwest), so I can bear it for that long. If I ever summon enough courage to fly overseas, I would wear yoga pants. Those seats alone are uncomfortable enough!

• I think if I flew over see's I'd get a comfy wrap dress with leggings. See, in my mind cotton dresses are like pj's.
• Rox, if you paid me one million dollars, and changed all my ligments to elastic bands, I would be incapable of sitting with my legs crossed under me in an airport seat.  I do not understand how that is possible, and yet, I do believe that you can do this yogi-like feat.

Re:  GBCK posts, isn't it the time of year for that?  All the newbs join in Feb, so it takes at least until May for them to leave in a huff?  That's my theory.

What about the Chit Chat board?  It seems different lately.

• but what does GBCK stand for? lol

• Did I seriously type "over see's" What is wrong with me?! overSEAS.

Jackie- Hahaha yes, I like to sit with my knees bent up to my chest and lay my head on them, typically how I sleep on planes.
Slightly inspired by a blog post and the fact that I still haven't figured out what I'm wearing for my flight Tuesday.  I always dress nice (Jeans and a nice top, a dress with leggings, etc...) but what do you wear?
Posted by nda_roxybabe
I haven't yet considered what I'm going to wear when we travel this summer (we'll be going through security about 12 times with all our layovers and stops and whatnot). I usually wear just a comfy sundress and slipon shoes (or even flipflops) -- I dress for comfort with a capital C.

But, if I'm selected for a patdown, does wearing a dress set off any bells or anything? I guess I'm asking, If they need to check inside the waistband, does that include inside the underwear? And how would that happen, specifically for a person wearing a dress?  Am I obsessing over nothing?

Thank you, OP, for my next 2-month obsession.

That's how I sit/sleep on long plane rides too. So if I do wear a dress I always have to remember to wear leggings. I also sit like that in desks when in a class (obviously not with the head down). It really freaks some people out.

I bet someone else has already answered like this, but I'm feeling ADD-ish today and can't handle reading all the responses. Lame, I know.

I like to wear shoes that let my feet "expand" a little, because the pressure change makes you swell up a bit and I get super uncomfortable if my feet are crammed into my shoes.  I also like to wear a stretchy cottony dress/tunic with leggings so I can sit "unladylike" if necessary, and I bring a cute cardigan to wear over it in case it gets chilly on the plane.

I've gotten my airport attire down to a fine art.  Every time I fly, I learn something new.  But I never look like a slob. I can't do it.

• My mom always made us look nice when travelling, so my upbringing really struggles with my love for being cozy :)  Usually I would wear nicer jeans or comfortable black pants with a cute top and a sweater or jacket...always in layers.  However, I am incredibly tempted to wear yoga pants and a nice tank top and jacket this time...we'll see.

For me it always depends on the length of the flight and where I'm going.  I fly out of Philly, so when I flew to Boston, I wore nice jeans and a cute blouse, cause we were going straight from the airport to a night out.  When I flew to San Diego, I wore jeans and a tee shirt, and took a sweater with me.  When I flew to Shanghai, it was yoga pants, tee shirt, hoodie (24 hours of traveling each way, guh).  I usually don't wear any makeup, since it all smears off as soon as I pop an Ambien and pass out on the plane anyway, and shoes are either Uggs or flip flops depending on the season (I carry a pair of those hospital socks you get when you have surgery in my carry on for when I get on the plane, but my primary footwear concern is getting through security drama-free).  I don't make it a point to get dolled up, but at the same time, I try not to look like I just rolled out of bed- I'll make sure I'm clean, not stinky, and that my hair is combed.

This.

I hate getting good clothes grubby from traveling so I usually just go with sweats/
yoga pants and a tank top with zip-up hoodie.  I usually have a travel time of 14 hours so I definitely want comfort.

Also, after my last trip, I'm making sure my carry-on has enough room for an extra pair of pants.  I had a toddler power puke on me in the boarding area of Halifax airport, and had to spring for a $50 pair of gift shop sweats.  I'm praying I don't have a similar experience when I fly on Friday.
