Lets See Your Dress!!!!

I thought it would be fun to see who has picked their dress even if you haven't what one is your absolute number one to try on or even if you already got married what does your dress look like!

What kind of style dress do you like flowy, ball gown, princess, fit n flare, mermaid, lace or with bling? Details ladies and even if you have pictures would be nice to see!

I don't have my dress picked out but I have one that I LOVE but I need to get a little skinner first before I even try it on lol.

This is my dream dress but I would never be able to afford it, Oh Pnina why do you have to be so much money :(

This is the dress I LOVE! It's romantic, elegeant, and sexy at the same time!

  • I wore Melissa Sweet's Wallis and wish I could wear it again!  Here's the photo where I first fell in love:

And here it is in person.  I added length to the bow:

  • I ordered a New York Bride Exclusive:

I wanted a dress with a ruffled skirt and got super hung up on either this one or a ruffled dress I had swooned over for a number of months prior to shopping. Ultimately, both dresses made me feel beautiful and I opted for the one in my budget. The ruffled dress was too expensive and I really do love the way I look and feel in my dress. I'm excited for it to come in!

Casablance 1999 (don't look at the model pic - she looks horrendous)

Sweetheart neckline, A-line.  Satin underneath with lace overlay.
    Exactly what I wanted.

  • Giaspo - that's gorgeous!  I love the texture!

This Winnie Couture was my dream dress, but it was a little over my budget:

So I ended up wearing a similar dress from Wtoo.  I kind of regret it.

  • Elle...I like the dress you wore better than the one in the picture. It looks wonderful on and very different!

Mine is from David's Bridal and is exactly what I wanted: Ivory, lace overlay over satin, sweetheart neckline and subtle sparkles embedded within the lace. I am officially obsessed.

  • This is Finisterre by Pronovias. I just had it ordered and I'm really excited! The one below is Petunia by Pronovias. I was toying with the idea of having the seamstress add similiar straps to the Finisterre I ordered since these two dresses look so similiar.

  • I thought I wanted a super-simple dress with one big "wow" detail, like this Maggie: LINK

I ended up falling in love with Demetrios Princess Collection style 9713: LINK

Not to be conceited, but I think it looks better on me than on the model (it's extremely flattering on a curvy figure, and the model just isn't doing it justice).  The detail work is also stunning in person (and, as a bonus, it cost less than the Maggie I thought I wanted!)

I just picked up my dress! Here it is:
    http://sophiatolli.com/wedding-dresses/Y11200/
I'm going to have the seamstress make the bow just a bit smaller...hoping to use the extra silk to make a pocket square for FH...
I'm having trouble deciding on veil length, and also on shoe color (silver or diamond white?).
Our wedding is in December... :-)

  • When I first went dress shopping I thought I wanted an all lace dress with a low/open back in a very simple silhouette but what I ended up getting was something completely opposite of that.

I absolutely fell in love with the train and the fit of the dress.  I also liked it because it was fun and since we just wanted our wedding to be an all out party, I don't think a vintage type lace dress would have emitted the same feeling.

Here is the stock photo and then you can see it on my in my sig pic.

  • Maggie, I very nearly bought that dress too! I was torn between two and ended up loving a Martina Liana instead:

    (stock photos)

But I am not wearing a sash. I just love the 'fit n' flare' style on me, I am fairly little so I like the fitted and simple silhouette. And I like that the lace is scattered rather than all over, its not too much. I also love that is silk organza, I have always loved organza/chiffon style material.
I still love that dress though (1 I didnt choose), it is definately a very fun dress. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice, but I think I did.
  • I thought I'd buy a really simple, straight dress, and I guess compared to ball gowns this is fairly plain, but it's definitely more dress than I expected. This is my second marriage and I'm a little older that most of you.

  • So after some craziness yesterday trying to find out who the designer is for this gown that I had tried on earlier, I commited and it's on it's way! However, I'm making some changes. I am adding a one shoulder type organza and lace strap with a flower that matches the waist, a wristlet that matches the shoulder thing, giving it a one sleeve look. Then, I am putting an ivory beaded sash with it. It sounds crazy but looks beautiful. I have a cathedral length veil with beading and lace trim and a really wide rhinestone headband that I can make look like a tiara. Then I got some chandalier earrings and this drappy necklace that will lay over to the one shoulder without the sleeve thing with a little bit of body tape. Then I dyed my shoes a peacock green to match my bridesmaid's dresses and rhinestones on the heels. The dress ended up being designed by Marionet in the Magnolia Spring 2012 collection.

</div><div>I've probably said this before, but my dress is a Casablanca as well, and every model on their site looks either totally miserable or is really not doing the dress justice. It's so noticeable. </div><div>
</div><div>My dress is interesting. Because I liked the top of one and the main dress part of another, they're putting the two together in the factory. Casablanca offers this for a pretty reasonable rate (it's $70 for front and back). This way I don't have to order extra lace (omg, $200 a yard) and have to worry about a seamstress for a major part of my dress. This is the dress (Casablanca 2051):</div><div>

I am wearing mine plain for the ceremony and adding a belt for the reception. The way I see it.. everyone takes pics with you at the reception and it is usually from waist up, so might as well add some bling for that! PS. Dress looks great on you!
