Lori Lawrence

I've seen a lot of really good recommendations for Lori Lawrence on here and am wondering how her pricing works?  Also, those of you that used her, did you book your things through her company or did you go with your own vendors and she booked them for you?  Thanks!

The package I'm familiar with is a flat rate that includes booking all of your vendors and being there on the day of, which I think is her Maui Dreams package, and was $950 when I last looked.  This includes some basic leis, beach permit if you need one and the officiant, and she handles booking and paying the other vendors but their fees are added on to hers  (meaning flowers, cake, photog, musician, etc. are not included in her rate).  I actually liked this because it gives you freedom to select whatever vendors you want.  I didn't want to be limited by the package deals that other WCs offered.

Note that if your wedding ceremony is at a different location than the reception, Lori's fee includes her attendance at your ceremony, but there's an additional fee for her to be at the reception.

Not sure whether this only applied to my case, but the last time I checked with her, she said her Maui Dreams package included attendance at the ceremony only.  Looking after the reception part would be extra.  I was trying to get a quote for reception set-up and break-down, but it was rather blurry and a set figure wasn't provided.  They said it would be decided later depending on "time and needs".  We ended up not going with this vendor in the end for other reasons.  As for vendors, you can choose your own, but they have a list of their preferred vendors, which they will steer you towards.  Happy planning and hope this helps!!

I think mine was $1,500 for ceremony and reception day-of coordination.  I can't remember if this included the pastor, but it included a meeting with her beforehand, and she breaks everything down and oversees setup.  She'll also help with some of the vendor booking but the $1,500 assumes that you are pretty much booking your own vendors I believe.  I don't think I had her book any of my vendors, but she did handle all of my final confirmations of payments, setup and details for the week leading up to the wedding.

Hmmm I am paying the $950 plus the $1500 for the whole day...ceremony and reception.

Like I mentioned - I did the 950 package, but the only bookings I've done myself are the reception restaurant and the wholesale flowers for the centerpieces, and we're doing our own centerpieces (flowers in vases - pretty simple).  It's worked really well, so far.

So I think once you know what type of wedding you're having - at an estate? on a beach followed by a restaurant reception?  on the restaurant's grounds, followed by a reception there?  -- that will help you have a more specific conversation with Lori about her fees.

lwav--I just checked my final invoice and I only paid $1500...I paid an additional $500 for Jamie's sound system and we paid Jamie $500 for 2.5 hours of music, but that's all separate from the coordinating...

Are you sure you're paying both $950 and $1500??

    Hi,
I'm new to this board but am also using Lori for my wedding at Olowalu in 2011 and I am paying 950 plus 2000 for reception coordination....!!! Not going to be that impressed if we're paying nearly double everyone else! Maybe it's related to the size of the wedding as ours is quite large? Will be checking this out anyway.... And thanks to all of you for contributing to this board - I've only just starting looking at it but finding it very helpful already!

Hi again, I just realized that I booked Lori back in 2008, paid for my own pastor, and my wedding was small.  Since 2008 she definitely has reason to raise her prices seeing as how that was two years ago.  Now that I have looked back on all this, $950 and $1500 does sound about right for her current pricing.

I would definitely book her at that rate, she's worth it--think of it this way...on the day of alone she puts in a solid 12 hours of work.  Plus she meets with you beforehand, works with the vendors, will handle so many of the details for you, etc.  I'm not meaning to sound like I'm defending her, but trying to keep it in perspective.  :)

I am using Lori as well and booked her at the end of 2009.. My pricing is as follows.. $950 for ceremony and $1500 for reception. She is only booking a few of my vendors, but this is due to Sugarman's requirements. She does give you a list of vendors that she recommends but you are free to choose your own and do your own research which is what we have done.

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to the board, but also getting married at Olowalu and thinking of using Lori as my WC. I just got her quote back saying fees were 950$ plus 2000$ for reception coordination. My wedding is likely to be quite small (we estimate between 20 and 40 people) and I find these fees rather high. Should I be looking elsewhere or try to negotiate?
