This is annoying me so much I just have to tell someone.
This guy next to me in my office is literally sneezing once every five seconds. Then he proceeds to sniffle sniffle sniffle sniffle. Ok, I understand if you're sick and you can't help it. But at least take some medicine or blow your nose? Or don't come in to work?
On top of that, this same guy's phone has been ringing, LOUDLY, every few minutes. And he proceeds to answer it and talk on it.
My office is the quietest place on earth so things like this really make it hard to concentrate. Ack.
Do your officemates have annoying habits?

Now my office is insanely quiet and I love it.
As far as my own pet peeves - you don't eat someone else's food in the fridge. NO! Bad! Don't touch!!!! That's MY Jello chocolate pudding snack, damnit!
[QUOTE]I gotta say, I was sick a few weeks ago and was sniffling and felt SO bad about it! We don't even have cubicles, so all my colleagues had to watch me blowing my nose every 2 minutes and sneezing. I did keep it contained, but I went through a box of tissues and Lysol wipes in about a day. The following day I was feeling the same so I just stayed home because I felt so bad subjecting them all to my grossness. <strong>As far as my own pet peeves - you don't eat someone else's food in the fridge. I was waiting for you to answer Cate. Did they ever find the fridge bandit?
I also send students home if they're too sick.
I do feel your pain with the phone though. I personally would ask him to put it on silent. At least then you wouldn't have to listen to it. I am actually in an office, but my neighbor and I share a WALL and I can still hear him through it! He is originally from Venezuela and speaks very loudly in Spanish. He thinks he's getting away with talking to friends because he's speaking in another language...but i'm pretty sure everyone knows he's not working in there...
Every once in awhile, I'll forget to fix it, I'll get an early morning text message, and everyone gets to hear "Jetson's doorbell." Never more than once, though.
I get annoyed when people leave stuff in the fridge until it grows. That's freakin gross.
[QUOTE]Haha, in lab we had a rule that we could kick you out if you were sick. It was a great rule. We'd also report each other to the boss to make her kick someone else out. I also send students home if they're too sick.

Haha that's a great rule.
wrkn, oh my goodnesss..yes..the fridge thing is disgusting. I'm pretty sure 99% of the things in our fridge are not edible.

At the last company I worked, many of the people weren't from the US, and they would just yell for someone halfway across the floor. I certainly don't miss all the shouting.

Nope! But my chocolate pudding stopped getting taken at least. I told everyone that I was going to inject blue food dye so that the thief's mouth would turn blue. I was actually going to do it, too, but luckily they got the hint.
I work in such a small office and everyone's really close, so it's particularly offensive when someone takes your food because we all know each other and spend time together every day. It feels a lot less personal if the thief might not be someone I interact with socially on a daily basis.
Other pet peeve? Correcting my Spanish as soon as I get off a call. Yep, usually it's a very good suggestion and the intentions of my coworkers are good, but it makes me massively paranoid on my phone calls that I'm being critiqued for my grammar and pronunciation while I'm talking to clients. It makes me really hesitant to pick up the phone when anyone else is around!
I'm hoping to take some Russian Classes so I can understand everything. LOL.
