Facial Jewelery?

I was just looking at my photographers fb page and he had pics up from a wedding he did this weekend.  The bride had her nose pierced and in all her pics I just kept looking at her nose.

It was just a small diamond one, but I couldnt stop staring at it.  I dont have any facial piercings (not since I took my tongue ring out 5 years ago) and am not judging, I am just curious.

Do any of you have facial piercings?  Do you plan on wearing them on you wedding day?

I don't.  If I did it would be a septum piercing, which I would take out simply because they look weird in pictures and that is a piercing I would have for a few years max.

I do have an industrial (not facial obviously) which I will not be removing because I plan on having it for the remainder of my life, unless something happens and I have to remove it.

I figure if it's a surface piercing or something I don't plan on keeping forever, I may regret having it in wedding pictures.

I had my nose pierced but my body rejected it :( No idea if i'd leave it in for my wedding. Probably, I'd just put a little tiny one in.

Oh, also I started stretching my ears and the plugs [whatever size I'm at in Jan] will be in for the wedding.

I also had a tongue ring, and eyebrow ring, and took them both out a few years ago. Even if I kept them in, I would not wear them on my wedding day.

I used to have my nose pierced but my body rejected it, too.  It was so strange; I'd never had problems with piercings before.  I would have had to take it out a few months later for work anyway, but if for some reason I still had it, I would take it out for my wedding photos.

I had my eyebrow, tongue and nose done and same as Roxy...my eyebrow and nose didn't last.  My body hates surgical/stainless steel.  My tongue piercing is plastic so I still have it and it's has a half-ball on either-side (I can't stand the feel of a whole little balls in my mouth -haha, that's what she said!)  Anyhow, I'll probably leave my tongue piercing in because it's light pink too so it's hardly noticeable.

I've had my tongue pierced and a ton of earrings.  I slowly took them out my senior year of college in prep for job interviews. I ended up working at the University, where they could care less.  I still have my nose piercing though.  I've had it since I was 16, so I don't even notice it anymore.  I'll probably leave it in (not intentionally; I'll just forget to take it out.)  Most people don't even notice mine?

That makes me curious though... I'm going to back and look at my e-pics to see if you can even notice it!

On a related note- I will NOT be covering up my tattoos though, much to my parents dismay.

I'm not a fan of facial piercings, except for tongue rings since you can't really see them. Although, the small studs for nose rings can look really good on some girls (I actually had a teacher in high school with one, and I still don't know how she got away with it since they made students take them out).

    Kim--what are industrials?

Ah, that wasn't what I was imagining at all. Never knew those were called industrials. Thanks!

I love industrials, if I had them I'd definitely wear them at all times. I don't have any facial piercings but if I did I guess I'd wear them on my wedding day? I don't know. I feel like if you had them, you'd be proud of them and want to show them off. I love small nose studs on girls who have cute noses, but I have a big nose so it wouldn't look too cute on me haha.

No facial jewelry at all, it's NMS.  Just one hole in each ear... I'm pretty vanilla.

I kinda like nose rings, but I think even if I had one I'd probably take it out that day for the exact reason that Blue mentioned.

I have a nose ring and eyebrow ring. Had to take the eyebrow one out due to it never actually healing properly, and I'll probably take out my nose one for the wedding, or at least switch it to a stud. I <3 it though.

Manda has a nose ring, and it was in for my wedding photos. I doubt anyone noticed it, but the again she wasn't the bride. I think my wedding day is a reflection of who I am just as my facial jewelry would be. I'd keep it in, personally. If that's all people notice in my photos, I can't say that's really my problem or concern.

I have my nose pierced and most people never notice it.  I've had it done for 6 years now and I'll have people who I've seen numerous times since then ask me if I just got it done.  I am planning to keep it in on the wedding day, as well as my tragus piercing. They are "me".  I had both in for my engagement pics and now I need to go back and look to see if they are even noticeable....

I have a nose stud and I left it in for the wedding.  I've had it for almost 8 years and saw no reason to take it out for the wedding day.  It's a reflection of who I was on that day (just like my hair was dyed other than my natural color that day, etc.).  I doubt anyone thinks my photos are hurt by my tiny stud.

eh, i'm not a fan of facial jewelry or tattoos, so i'm always the wet towel in these threads. like, i literally cringed at the above post about stretching ears/ear plugs. to each her own!

I used to have a monroe, I LOVED it but I ended up having to take it out and just never had it done again. FI has two lip rings and dispite FMIL's protest he will be wearing them in the wedding. I would rather look at his lip rings than the ugly holes. I would wear any peircing I had, if I had any, just like I won't be covering up my tattoos. Its all me and I don't know why I would try to hide a part of myself for pictures that I'm going to keep.

I used to have an eyebrow ring. I had to take it out because it started to reject a few years ago. Even so, I knew that someday I would take it out and that day would be before my wedding (I knew this before I even met FI). Facial piercings are transient to me and I wouldn't want something like that in something permanant like a wedding picture.

I have my nose pierced and I wouldn't ever think of taking it out for the wedding. Same with covering tattoos. My nose ring fell down the drain a few weeks ago and I felt naked without it. I just feel like you make the conscious decision to get piercings or tattoos done, and you know that they are permanent (I realize piercings aren't, but I personally wouldn't get something pierced with the intention of not having it forever), so why take it out? I wouldn't feel like myself if I took it out for the wedding, or if I covered my tattoos.

FI had his ears gauged, eyebrow pierced and a labret. He had to take them out when he started his new job as a phelebotomist. It was a little depressing.

I don't and never really wanted anything until very recently. a bunch of people tell me I would look great with a little nose stud (apparently, I have the perfect nose for it, whatever that means) but I don't want one because I have crappy allergies. I have thought about a Monroe, but honestly, I'm a nurse and I'd never be able to wear it. besides, DH would murder me.

I did not cover my tattoos though. I'm proud of them. definitely wanting more. I have at least 2 planned, possibly a 3rd.

I just have my two earring holes but I think if I had something I would wear it. Like others have said you got the piercing for a reason, and I think it would be like covering a tattoo. That being said, if it were a church wedding I might take them out, just as I might cover a tattoo with a shawl.
Before meeting me Scott had an eyebrow piercing as well as one hole in each ear. He always wore little hoops. He took out the eyebrow when his neice was born (but you can still see the little hole scar) and took out his hoops for the wedding and never put them back in. It's silly but I actually miss them, I think more than he does.

Pooh, I don't know if I said it before but I love that picture of you. I kind of want to hang it on the wall somewhere just because it's so pretty.

i have my nose pierced. I love it and would not take it out, it is part of me. i have a stud but if i had a ring in my nose i would switch it out for a stud like mine because i find sometimes in pictures a ring can look like a booger lol.
All of my piercings will stay in and tattoos will be shown

I have my nose pierced, have had it for years and I love it. Like pp said most people dont even notice. I figure this is me, why would I change me for my wedding? I notice my earings in my e-pics more then my nose stud anyway :)

I have 30 piercings altogether, most of which are above the neck. If you don't count the 16 in my ears that leaves 9 that are facial. Of those I won't be wearing most of them, just because with all of them in it can look a little busy. Which is great for some looks but not necessarily for wedding pics. I wear a spike in my septum that i'll keep in my purse so I can put it in later in the evening because I do love it, but I don't want it in formal pictures because the shadow can sometimes look like a mustache, which is not awesome. I will definitely be wearing my three tounge rings, in fact they are my something blue, I just found a set of three acrylic blue tounge rings that I think will be awesome. So basically I will be totally omitting both eyebrow piercings and three lip rings.

I don't have any personally (not even my ears are pierced anymore).  But if I did, depending on what it was (a small diamond or gem in my nose), I'd probably leave it in.
