Stalking?

Ummm so I just got giddy because we apparently got some hand towels and washcloths.  I don't even use washcloths.  We are T-37 days from the wedding...is it ok to stalk?

Washcloths are actually kind of nice to have. I never used them either.

And no I didn't stalk. I didn't even really register.

  • Stalk away!

WHile you are stalking, someone who is awake, please stalk my bio and let me know if there is anything missing that you think my FMIL might want to see. We are visiting her tomorrow and she wants to know details. I am not thrilled about this conversation, mainly because I purposefully don't have many details.

    Sorry to threadjack, andy... maybe

  • I just have no idea who in my life has their shiit together enough to be thinking about buying me washcloths (and a scale, french press, backpacking dishes and GPS) 37 days from my wedding.  This is obviously the work of people over the age of 50.

Salt you didn't need to register because you already had the light saber.

  • I was a stalker, but I really did add and take away somethings that I had changed my mind on as we got closer to the wedding.
  • Nice bio!

Do you have any ideas re: paper?

  • Not really. We have STD's but our scanner is broken and I'm shitty with the camera. They were really cute, but they aren't on there. And she has one on her fridge.

The invitations come from a kit from Michaels, so I'm not sure they are anything to AW about. THey are just plain ivory with a purple ribbon.

Maybe I'll bring one with us so she can see. Good Idea. Thanks!

Why did you register for washclothes if theyre not even something you use?
  • I never understood why "stalking" is seen as a confession. We registered for those gifts- it's not like opening up a present that's supposed to be a surprise. It's still a surprise to see who bought what.

Thanks! I'm tired, so I'm going to bed. Hopefully i have included enough for FMIL to feel included. I keep telling myself that the purpose of the trip is snorkeling on Saturday, so I just have to keep sane for one day before I can have some fun in the ocean.

  • I'm T minus 3.5 months out and the only thing bought off our registry is a panini press my mom gave me for my birthday last month, because she wanted to get me something, "I could really use." *headdesk* (But to be honest, I've used it 3 times, including tonight. It was a BIRTHDAY present even though it was off the wedding registry, people!)

And washcloths are great in emergencies. Don't ask for an example, please.

  • There is no one buying off my registry yet, and I still look at it every now and then to make sure I haven't changed my mind on anything. FWIW, I have had 5 things bought off of it as birthday presents, and that made me uber excited to see "fulfilled" on some things. ( They were all from my mom, and I knew what they were, but I was still excited.) I am officially a loser. Every person that knows me knows fully well I am going to "stalk" my registry in the days leading up to the shower and the wedding.

  • I received a few things off my registry already.  Stalking my registry sort of blew the surprise wedding shower my FI's family threw us when they were visiting.  :\  But some random people decided to send early gifts so now I have boxes all over my apartment.  I've got a toaster oven!  I do check from time to time because Macy's discontinued a lot of stuff or my FI asks if I added something to a list and I can't remember or I think of something new to add or remove.
  • I stalked my registry.  I don't see the big deal.  The gifts aren't a surprise anyway because you registered for them.  The surprise is just who got you what.

I use washcloths to wash my face every morning.

  • I stalk. Mostly because I'm getting nervous that we literally have no sheets yet (his bed was a futon frame he got off the street with an Ikea mattress on it; mine is a twin. So be bought a new bed, but have... no sheets.

Who buys a cheap vacuum cleaner instead of sheets? From this point on, I'm always giving couples linens.

I think people must think linens are boring gifts or something.  We registered for towels and washcloths and didn't get ANY.  It was okay because we didn't really need them, but it would have been nice to get new fluffy towels.  Oh well.

  • I love getting couples linens.  What kind of sheets did you register for Morfudd?  I'd be more interested in spending $$ on really nice sheets (and maybe only getting a flat sheet for the money I was going to spend on both) than your normal >300 thread count sheets.

  • We have a set of sheets on our Pottery Barn registry, and a set of  high-thread-count sheets of  whatever the "Hotel Collection" equivalent is in Canada on our Bay registry. Personally, I'd buy sheets before the vacuum cleaner, but perhaps it was someone who took pity on our cat hair situation...

We did get our towels(!), which was a nice surprise, but we could have made do with worn out going-away-to-college (or, in his case, grad school, since he lived at home in undergrad) towels.

Andy-- the camping gear sounds really cool! I'm jealous that you have the time; all our vacation time is spent at conferences or visiting family. (And we don't have a car to drive anywhere to camp, anyway.)
