Program wording for a difficult sister - HELP!

My younger sister is VERY MUCH my opposite.  We are not that close but out of respect for my parents I asked her to be part of my wedding party.  She initially said no... but after much convincing from our mom, she agreed to be a bridesmaid.

My FI and I are writing a few words about each person in the wedding party for our website and the progrm.  We have EVERYTHING done except for the few words about my sister.

Any suggestions on how to politely say that we're happy she's going to be part of the wedding without making it obvious that there isn't much else to say about our relationship?

Thanks!

Re: Program wording for a difficult sister - HELP!

  • You really have nothing nice to say?  Ouch.

Did you share any fun times growing up?  A dance class, Girl Scouts, having a territory battle in a shared bedroom?

"So-and-so is my favorite little sister.  Growing up we shared (see above).  I can't imagine getting married without her by my side.  "

My (only) sister and I always joke about being each other's favorite sister.  And my little brother says that I am his favorite oldest sister... it is kind of a family joke... not sure if it will go over with your fam.

  • What about mentioning being there for you for all family issues?
  • Using another sentence from someone above, you could say something like "The bond that sisters share is something that can never be broken. I couldn't imagine getting married without her by my side"
