So replacing the door that had some water damage was going to cost $1300. When the contractor removed the old door, there was water damage to the load-bearing beams and some black mold on the sheetrock behind the door facings that had been removed. The siding has been leaking, so needs to be replaced on that entire end of the house. The job that was supposed to cost $1300 has ballooned to $4950. To pay for it, I'm either going to have to tap into the home equity line of credit or sell some stock.
