  • I'm so glad I started posting on C&T.  It's quite entertaining.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • The Budget Wedding board has just decided to be full of drama in the last week...not sure what's going on all of a sudden.
    Anniversary
    White Knot
    Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • What other drama?  I mean, I noticed the uptick in "vote for me" posts, but is there something else I missed?  I do tend to skim a bit on the Knot lately.

This chick with the tiered reception and her BSC sister are just nuts.

I'm not buying the "change" either. I honestly think she's nuts. I can't find it at the moment, but I clearly remember just a few weeks ago, Little Ms. "Traditonal" had a post up where she kind of said spending the night before the wedding apart is silly.

And the "I need money" has me cringing. I'm going to figure out a way to reach through the screen and slap the next beebee that says "Guys, she just asked a question, GOD! Didn't your mother ever teach you bitches that if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all".

  • The "I need money" girl is pissing me off.  She has no money and instead of making herself and her family financially stable, she wants to spend it on the wedding?  Because she doesn't want to marry in a courthouse?  Where are her priorities?

I want to respond "I feel sorry for your kid"

If you want to be a terrible financial person, whatever, but when you are so selfish that you would put a wedding ahead of savings for your kid, that's just messed up.
  • I do feel sorry for her kid!

Seriously, I'm not a parent, I can't even fathom being a parent at this point in time, but if I had a kid, I guarantee that if I was having that kind of money trouble, a pretty princess day would be literally the last thing on my mind.

  • I honestly don't understand the people who post "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."  What is the point of these boards then?  If I'm asking advice for something and it's a terrible idea, good advice is telling me so!  It's like telling your friend she has broccoli in her teeth.  It's not something "nice" but she needs to know if she's gonna fix the problem!

  • oooo, I'd skipped the tiered guest list post originally because I had such a hard time understanding the OP.  It was definitely worth a second look!  Thanks, emily.
  • Ok, I finally found the other post from the "Parents paying" girl.

Again, to me, it sounds like she's kind of making fun of people who spend the night before the wedding apart ... but this is the same girl who flashed her V-card and claimed she's so traditional. Like I said earlier, I think she's just nuts.

I don't get that either...I suppose to them not validating someone's rude / bad idea = being mean. You can't always be blowing sunshine up people's asses...their IRL friends aren't necessarily going to tell them that they're behaving like brats but if they came here asking for advice...they're going to get it. And it won't always be "You're doing the right thing - carry on!"
