Drunk and stoned

Ugh. There are two military guys staying here, and they keep coming up and down the elevator and going to their car.

One guy happened to ride down with them at one point, who also happens to work for some sort of drug task force, and let me know what they'd been drinking and smoking. I gave the guys a warning when they came back in, but of course they acted all, who, me? about it, so I doubt they took me seriously.

I'm so ready to quit this place! I enjoy it and feel safe most nights, but guys liek that make me nervous.

  • Nice military guys, nice. Way to do the US proud!

  • Yep, that's what I thought too gg. I'm mostly worried they'll try to drive, but they haven't yet.

  • They had better hope they don't have a random piss test soon!

  • Haha, I didn't even think of that! I don't know why they're at the hotel, they only live about 30 minutes away.

  • Someone that DH knows was just dishonorably discharged from the Army for "pissing hot." Dumbass.

  • I knew there was a reason I found it so dumb!

[QUOTE]...Maybe they're trying to dodge deployment by pissing hot. There were 5 soldiers in my unit who smoked and snorted up before we deployed. All of them got kicked out immediately (after doing about a month of extra duty of course)

    Wow, what a cop out.

  • If you're going to enrol, surely you'd want to be dedicated enough to avoid doing drugs while you're doing your service? How ridiculous.
  • CS, that's horrible! What's the point of serving if that's what they are going to do ?!

FBIL was recalled several years ago, and most of the guys who reported with him smoked a bunch of pot first.  A lot of them came in the day of stoned, to try to get out of having to go.  The Army's solution was to not administer the drug test until they'd been in Kuwait/Iraq for 30 days.  They all came up clean by then.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />

FI administers piss tests monthly for his unit & LOVES when he gets to prosecute somebody for drugs.

  • wow that's almost like letting them have a free get high card! 2 send them 2 Iraq until their pee is clean.
  • Most of those guys never did drugs on their own, they just didn't want to be recalled by the Army & deployed.  They had real lives and jobs and didn't care what their army status was, as long as it didn't involve them being deployed.  The Army knew that and thwarted their "escape" plan.

  • One of my cousins was thinking of doing that. He had already done two tours in Iraq post 2001 and would rather be dishonorably discharged/sent to jail than go back a third time. He didn't do it and ended up not going over again after all.
  • Really, capitol? Pretty sure going to Iraq isn't a get high free card.
