Let's get the board moving :)

1. What's your favorite restaurant to go to as a couple (any meal)?

2.  What's your favorite dish to cook at home (either as a couple, or a favorite for one of you to prepare)?

A restaurant that my husband and I love is Villa Nova on High St. just south of Worthington.  It is a simple mom-and-pop Italian place - but it is absolutely delicious!

We are not the most experienced cooks, so we never make anything very fancy, but the one thing I do make that always turns out yummy is chicken enchiladas.  They are not at all authentic or fancy, but it is a quick, easy meal that is great for leftovers and pleases a crowd.  If anyone is interested, here is the link to the recipe.   I use a rotisserie chicken, which  I think really makes a difference!

I look forward to hearing more ideas for places to eat and things to make! :)

We LOVE Villanova!  It's like our go-to restaurant when we want something inexpensive, but better than fast-food.

Our favorite "treat" is a weekend breakfast at Zen Cha.  It usually ends up being a $35 breakfast, but it's worth every cent.  We usually get chai teas and big gourmet belgium waffles (with crazy tea infused ingredients mixed in), everything is out-of-the-ordinary without being weird (DH is an extremely picky eater, but he loves this place).

At home, it might be a tie between baked mac and cheese (with chicken and broccoli), or good ol' sausage-gravy and biscuits (we have it more for dinner than breakfast).  Both are Alton Brown's recipes and turn out fantastic every time.

    1. What's your favorite restaurant to go to as a couple (any meal)? hmmm...we go to Rusty Bucket very often to watch football on Sunday. But, as far as a "date night" restaurant....I love the Melting Pot. We also went to Bon Vie recently, and that was also very special (may have been extra special because I found out I passed the bar that day!)

    2.  What's your favorite dish to cook at home (either as a couple, or a favorite for one of you to prepare)? FI absolutely adores my semi-healthy chicken parm meal. I also enjoy making stuff like chili or beef stew, cuz it makes me feel like a housewife in a way Wink

My FI and I also LOVE Villanova!  We try to get there at least a couple times a month if possible.  I can't imagine if we lived closer!

At home, we love anything we can throw in the crockpot for the day.  Some favorites are chili (especially now that the weather is turning colder), BBQ, and pork tenderloin.

We are going to have to jump on the bandwagon for Villanova. Love it!

As far as eating out, we live in restaurants/fast food when we get a few minutes to grab a meal together. Usually we head the BJs route or Cheesecake Factory at Polaris. I'm a sucker for Marcella's, but getting him there is sometimes challenging :)

Right now we live with his mom, so not so big on the cooking meals at home thing (it becomes a huge family thing instead of us). But, I cooked chicken parm on our first date and that's probably our safe-bet meal now.

i <3 Mezzo for a nice date night out. we went on Tuesday and I got COW. It was amazing. I am a sucker for beef because I don't eat it often.

As far as cooking at home... I love doing basic grilled chicken with salt, pepper, and italian seasonings. It's so simple but it turns out perfect everytime. Add some au gratin potatoes, steamed green beans, and a side salad and it's perfection on a plate.

For dessert, Fi doesn't like dessert, so I drag him to Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams once in a while. (yes, even in cold weater. i love me some ice cream)  :-)

Betty's in the Short North for a fun night, El Vaquero for a quick dinner before heading out, Taj Mahal for special occasions, New India for our date nights, and Dirty Franks whenever we get the chance. Oh, and Dragonfly for super nice dinners.

I guess I need to try Villanova!

We LOVE going to The Wine Guy in Gahanna. We are also going to try and get our epics done there....our photographer did another couple's there and they turned out GREAT!

My fav thing to cook at home is a rendition of The Olive Garden's braised beef over tortellini.

@CLEcyclist- FI and I are both vegetarians and those places are awesome for us to go to, either just us or with our meat-eating friends. :)

For a dinner out we love Banana Bean Cafe off Greenlawn - SO good and great happy hour specials. If it's a fancy night we both like Eddie Merlots - specifically the cedar plank salmon and buckeye cup dessert. Mmm... mouth is watering now...
We've not been to Villa Nova, but will have to add it to the list as it seems to be a group favorite!

Our favorite meal to cook together is probably shish kabobs, although with the weather quickly getting cold our grilling out is likely to decrease. We also like to make homemade pizza together - spinach, feta, and chicken are our go-to toppings. :)

    What a fun question!

OUT:  SOGO on Georgesville Road for Sunday Sushi Buffet.  My FI can put a hurting on all the sushi he can handle and it doesn't break our pocketbook.  Plus, I'm a sushi snob and their variety is good even for the buffet style sushi (they carry several specialty rolls)  and the buffet has pretty much every asian cuisine you could imagine.  When we want MEAT though we go to Longhorn.  That is where we went when he got back from his last deployment so it has special significance.  For a regular afternoon, City Barbeque HANDS DOWN.

IN: He makes mean chili and steak.  But our favorite is grilled salmon over brown rice with pineapple rings.

    1. What's your favorite restaurant to go to as a couple (any meal)? When we were still living in Columbus, we also loved Villa Nova and the Hoggy's. In fact, H took me to Villa Nova (I am half Italian) one year for my bday bc he knew how much I loved Italian.

    2.  What's your favorite dish to cook at home (either as a couple, or a favorite for one of you to prepare)?  Hmm, this is a hard one. I love to cook and recently have been trying a lot of new things. I love making fresh veggie & chicken quesadillas and lasagna from scratch.

So happy there are so many Villanova lovers out there - Love it when a good, local Mom and Pop place does well!    Though, I'm not surprised - the place is always packed every night of the week.
I love a fancy gourmet treat from time to time, but nothing is more comforting than spaghetti like grandma makes it :)
