If you could change one thing that has happened thus far in your life right now, what would it be?
Re: Monday Questions
I don't know if I would change anything really. It all happened for a reason even if the outcome was horrible and I got hurt.
If you won the lottery, would you buy a new house or fix up/buy the place you live now?Describe what either would look like. We'd buy a new one. We like our house, but it's missing a few things we'd really like to have (like a garage, large shed, large yard, and forced air + A/C). It's a bit dated, and although we're working on it, we can only do so much before we overvalue it. My ideal home right now would be in a quiet area, 3 bed, 3 bath, partially finished basement, with a shop (inside or outside), at least 2 car garage (ideally 3), updated kitchen, and fairly open floorplan (although not totally open). Mostly brick, maybe a bit of board and batten siding.
What do you want to name your children? Stephanie and Jason. This is non-negotiable, and FI agrees. We have middle names picked out too, but in the interest of privacy, I'll keep those to myself (they're family names).
If someone offered to pay all your expenses for you to go volunteer for six weeks somewhere in the world, where would it be, and what would you do? I'd want to try working with children (because it would be fun) and also do some building (to learn building techniques in different places). Africa comes to mind because I've always dreamed of going there. Alternatively, I'd like to spend time volunteering with homeless and impoverished youth in our area. They're invisible, but definitely exist here.
What were you doing in July 2007? What do you think you'll be doing in July 2017? July 2007 - Partying my face off. I'd just finished senior year of high school and that summer was a total sh!t show. But it was super fun, and how I got together with FI. July 2017 - I'll likely be working. We don't plan to have kids quite yet, but we'll likely be in a different house/town than we are now. I hope we'll be doing some travelling at that point.
If you could change one thing that has happened thus far in your life right now, what would it be? Nothing. Seriously. Even the crappy stuff has had a hand in getting me where I am, and I'm pretty happy with that. No point in having regrets.
Life is good today.
Well I live in a crappy apartment so I would buy a new house. This is my dream house:
I love the name Finn for a boy but BF hates it.
That's a hard one. I think I'd need to do a lot more research before I could answer it. I would want to make sure whichever organization I chose to volunteer with used a human rights based approach.
I was spending the summer hanging out with friends, going to drive-in movies, and camping with my family. I'm sure I was also excited for my senior year of high school.
Hopefully BF and I will be TTC.
Sometimes I wish I had gone into nursing like I wanted to in high school but if I really could change anything I probably wouldn't, you never know what the effect of even just one change would be.

What is you earliest memory? I'm not sure if this is the earliest... but I vividly remember the entire scene from the lawyer's office when my dad adopted me, at age six.
If you won the lottery, would you buy a new house or fix up/buy the place you live now? I just bought my place a few months ago, and there aren't any major changes because the old school charm is awesome. That said, I'd get some spots on the floor to stop creaking, and a new kitchen floor. Really though, I'd get a car service so I didn't have to take the metro to work each day.
What do you want to name your children? that assumes I want children, which is undecided
If someone offered to pay all your expenses for you to go volunteer for six weeks somewhere in the world, where would it be, and what would you do? South America to teach.
What were you doing in July 2007? It was the summer before my last year of law school. I spent half the month finishing up an internship at the state Senate, and the other half traveling in Europe before a two week intestive study abroad in Berlin.
What do you think you'll be doing in July 2017? No clue. Working in the same job, looking for a new house, celebrating paying off my new car?
If you could change one thing that has happened thus far in your life right now, what would it be? I let go of a lot of things when I turned 30 (a few weeks ago), and I know that sounds ridiculous, but I did. I started to forgive myself for my stupid kid mistakes and move on. I'm not sure why I wouldn't let myself do that before I turned 30yo.
ooh, these are tough ones! What is you earliest memory? I'm not sure if this is the earliest... but I vividly remember the entire scene from the lawyer's office when my dad adopted me, at age six. If you won the lottery, would you buy a new house or fix up/buy the place you live now? Describe what either would look like . Definitely buy new... since I rent now. I would buy my heart-shaped island off the coast of Maine, and probably renovate the existing house. What do you want to name your children? I don't. But if God forbid I ever did produce spawn,<strong> I love the names Harper & Rowan for girls, and Ethan & Ian for boys</strong>. If someone offered to pay all your expenses for you to go volunteer for six weeks somewhere in the world, where would it be, and what would you do? I would go to either Camp Sunshine, in Maine, or the Hole in the Wall Camp, in Connecticut (Paul Newman's charity) - they are both for childhood cancer patients. It's a cause that's close to my heart. What were you doing in July 2007? What do you think you'll be doing in July 2017? I was working here, probably bitching about the Giants, same as I am today. In 2017... hopefully much happier in my job situation, married (?), with a house & a dog. If you could change one thing that has happened thus far in your life right now, what would it be? I wouldn't have gone to college where I did... although that would drastically alter everything about my life.

<div>I can't believe I forgot! Obviously, this will be what I'm naming our children as well :)</div>
It would have an open floor plan so the kitchen would look out into the great room that would have a big wood fireplace right in the middle with a stone chimney that would go up all the way to the ceiling (cathedral, of course). Other than that I haven't planned much of my dream house.
I would have gone back to finish my degree (or any degree), sooner.

--I have a bad memory from my early years so I don't know...probably was my sister beating me up (which could also be the cause of my bad memory). I also remember a boy asking me to marry him in Pre-K....he stole his mom's ring and I walked home with it without giving him a yes/no answer. Thank goodness I didn't lose it on the way home...my grandma was furious that I could have lost a really expensive ring.
If you won the lottery, would you buy a new house or fix up/buy the place you live now?Describe what either would look like.
--I would buy a new house with a really large yard and an infinity pool someplace warm but not overly hot.
What do you want to name your children?
--Not sure. I used to love Hayden for a girl but now that it is popular, I don't like it as much. I loved growing up with a unique name that no one else had but that wasn't crazy sounding either. Would like my kids to have the same.
If someone offered to pay all your expenses for you to go volunteer for six weeks somewhere in the world, where would it be, and what would you do?
--It sounds crazy but I've wanted to go to the Congo since I was little. I would love to work at a forest reserve and build up education about the extinction of the Mountain Gorillas.
What were you doing in July 2007? What do you think you'll be doing in July 2017?
--I was working insane hours in my legal practice. In 2017 I will probably be working, married to SO with one or two kiddos.
If you could change one thing that has happened thus far in your life right now, what would it be?
--I don't have many regrets. I too think my life thus far has, good or bad, created who I am and I'm pretty darn proud of that. I think I might have been a great doctor though...might go back and change that.
I remember playing play doh with my sister at our old house. The entire house had carpet, so we had this board/table thing to play on. We were in the kitchen and my parents were cooking dinner. I remember feeling like we were in the way because the kitchen was so small. We moved when I turned four, so I was probably 3.
Buy new, since I live in an apartment right now. Even with winning the lottery, I would want something practical. 2-3 bedrooms, full basement. Amazing kitchen for baking. Huge garage for our cars, atvs, motorcycles and snowmobiles.
2017: Married. Own a house. Working, hopefully still at the same job. But maybe higher up in the company?
I would want for my dad not to have cancer. Or maybe to have spent more time with my grandmas before they passed away.

I'm sorry to hear this. My dad also has cancer...extensive small cell lung cancer. I can empathize, unfortunately.
What were you doing in July 2007? What do you think you'll be doing in July 2017? 2007: Reading Deathly Hallows for the first time!
Posted by lovelyheather
<div>That's right! That is very much tied up in my memories of that summer, also. </div><div>
</div><div>I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad.</div>
I remember pretending to be asleep in the back of the car so my dad would carry me into the house.
If you won the lottery, would you buy a new house or fix up/buy the place you live now?
I'd buy a new house. I love my condo, but since we're getting married and will want a family, we're going to need more space soon.
Describe what either would look like.
I don't know! Probably a 4BR, 3BA home with a nice sized yard and a wonderful kitchen!
What do you want to name your children?
We've chosen Aubrey for a girl and Blake for a boy.
If someone offered to pay all your expenses for you to go volunteer for six weeks somewhere in the world, where would it be, and what would you do?
I have absolutely no idea. It would be something i'd really have to think about. I'd want to do some research on the organization too.
What were you doing in July 2007?
I was in my first year of work in the real world and Chad and I had been dating for about 6 months.
What do you think you'll be doing in July 2017?
Hopefully on baby #2 by then!
If you could change one thing that has happened thus far in your life right now, what would it be?
I might change my major in college. I loved my business classes and I think my degree gives me a lot of flexibility in the work world...but now that I'm a little older there are many other subjects that interest me.
In seriousness, I like the names Elizabeth and Katarina for girls, Anderson (Andy) for a boy. We have a couple names we both like, but I'm saving those
Still here and still fabulous!
What is you earliest memory?
Since I rent I'd love to buy a house someday probably not now, but there's this estate in Central Penn I'm obessed with! I found it while I was trolling craigslist and its 17 acres and just perfect, its my dream home! What do you want to name your children? When we went to the hospital when my youngest brother was born, I was 4 and my 2-year-old brother and I both wore 'I'm the Big Brother, I'm the Big Sister' t-shirts, we were so excited!
If you won the lottery, would you buy a new house or fix up/buy the place you live now?Describe what either would look like.
It changes and BF hates them all but currently, Lola Rose, Poppy Mae, Alexander Gray and Bear David, I like original names and hate naming after people in families.
If someone offered to pay all your expenses for you to go volunteer for six weeks somewhere in the world, where would it be, and what would you do?
I did volunteer in Costa Rica in the summer of 2009 at an orphanage and it was amazing, but I think China, or Peru. What were you doing in July 2007? What do you think you'll be doing in July 2017?
July 2007, I was dating this terrible (but attractive) guy I met on my trip to Italy/Greece and smoking way to much pot. In July 2017 I hope to be married or getting married!
If you could change one thing that has happened thus far in your life right now, what would it be?
Probably wouldn't have taken that LSD trip, it really did change my life and not in a way I would have liked.
What is you earliest memory? -The day my sister was born, when I was about 3. If you won the lottery, would you buy a new house or fix up/buy the place you live now?Describe what either would look like. -Buy a house, since we rent. We'd buy a century home right on the lake (or very close) in the same city we live in now. It will have a chef's kitchen, b/c we both love cooking, and a huge soaking tub with a TV and fire place in the bathroom. What do you want to name your children? -Josephine Ann (f); Maxwell Ellis (m). FI is cool with Josephine, since it happens to be a family name, but hates Maxwell. If someone offered to pay all your expenses for you to go volunteer for six weeks somewhere in the world, where would it be, and what would you do? -<strong>I'd go help prosecute war crimes or human rights violations</strong>. What were you doing in July 2007? What do you think you'll be doing in July 2017? -7/07 I was working as a bartender, getting ready to start law school; 7/17 I hope to be working as a county prosecutor, with at least one kid and an other on the way. If you could change one thing that has happened thus far in your life right now, what would it be? -I'd be hired at the county prosecutor's office by now, but like others have said- I'm where I'm at for a reason.

This is exactly the type of law I've wanted to practice, international law with an emphasis in human rights.
I love the names Harper & Rowan for girls
Posted by BriSox81
Okay, seriously, when I was growing up as the girl named Harper in all of my elementary and middle school classes, I hated that name because it was odd and no one knew anyone named Harper. Now there are Harpers EVERYWHERE. What the hell?? I started using my first name to force people to stop calling me that damn name.
Weirdness.
