DJ - Brian Childs

Hello knotties,

I am usually lurking around here, but needed to come out of hiding to ask a question. Just met with a DJ, Brian Childs, and we really liked him. If you've worked with him, could you please share your experience?? Our priorities are for a DJ to play as long as we want without charging an arm and a leg, for the DJ to pay *careful* attention to our Do Not Play list, and for the DJ to make announcements and get people dancing without being corny and taking over the whole reception.

Thanks!!

I loved Brian Childs and not once did he even attempt to play anything on my do not play list. We were pretty open on our play list and asked him to watch the crowd. He was great and kept our dance floor packed all night. I had a hard time even finding room to dance myself. He didnt make many announcements besides the cake and garter/bouquet toss so it was fairly easy.

Brian is great. Fun to work with, dependable, professional, no cheese, and he went above and beyond to make sure our reception ran smoothly & on time.  He played both our ceremony and reception.  The only advice I have is to have a play list for him.  I didn't because I ran out of time (and energy) and DH and I had to keep requesting all the songs we wanted to hear.
He definitely kept people on the dance floor all night.  GL!

my fiance and I both met with him recently and in our opinion, he was not what we were looking for.  He was throwing a few song choices out there that were "crowd pleasers" and our tastes were a bit different.  I felt he might be a little "old" in his ways, so we looked for someone with a bit of a younger touch.  This is just my personal opinion, so no mean to offend anyone. He did seem like a very nice guy and he was pretty affordable.
