portland/vancouver area venue

I'm looking into venues within 45 mins to an hour (preferably closer) to vancouver, wa. It MUST have indoor cerimony and reception areas with a rustic feel, and onsite accomodations, all on a small budget. I Love the look of the cornelius pass mcmenimens barn, but there's no accomidations on site, and I can't use the egdefield because my fiance's sister had her wedding there. Most of the rustic/country feel venues, like barns and farms, I've looked at online don't have onsite lodging or have been out of our budget. We're looking to spend less than $5000 for site fees and catering so no more than $2000 if there's no catering included. Any ideas?

  • I was just looking up The Tiffany Center today. They have two ballroom options and prices are right on the website. It's downtown Portland. They stress that it's vintage and historical.

You mentioned Mcmenamins... would you travel fifteen mins further to the Grand Lodge? I'm also considering CPR. Do you mean that the house isn't big enough, what do you mean by no accomodations?

  • There is the village ballroom in NE Portland, it's pretty cool, a non profit that you can pick a charity that you would like the $ to go to. You can bring in your own caterer and I know an inexpensive one if you can't find one.  http://www.villageballroom.com/

  • Sorry, I somehow thought accomadations referred to what the venue could provide and I totally missed the onsite lodging part.
The Benson, Heathman or Govenor hotels? I only know they are historical and beautiful, no idea of prices. I'll keep thinking...
  • You can also check out The Lodge at Mt. Park. www.mtparkhoa.com/hawthornrm. Afordable prices and a "lodge" like feel to the site.

  • Hi,
I am the mother of the bride to be and I need some help finding a forest setting place for her to get married. If possible maybe a place that has electricity but if not then we would need another place for the reception. We will have about 100 people that would like to go. We would really like a place that is low in price. This wedding will be in august on the 17th if anyone can help me that would be awsome. We moved here from California a year ago and we are still very new on this lovely state. Thanks for the helping hand.

<div>I LOVE anderson lodge from the website, but I will be having a weekend wedding and with catering it would be pushing the budget..... If anyone knows of anything similar to anderson lodge or the mcmeniman's hotel properties, those would be the ideal sort of venue. We will be going to visit each of the mcmeniman properties and possibly anderson lodge this summer but would like other options as well....</div>

<div>Pretty much any camp ground or KOA in the area will have electricity, you can look up park amenities on the WA/OR state websites (such as whether covered picnic areas or indoor spaces are available for booking). Also there are a few privately owned summer camp style campgrounds in the area such as Horning's Hideout, Camp Colton, anderson lodge, silver lake resort, etc. My favorite amongst these is a jewish summer camp near lincoln city called camp B'nai B'rith (spelling??) which would be perfect for us if not so far away. Hope thats helpful.</div>
