yay her! they should offer childfree flights. or how about a childfree airline?
  • I've stomped out of stores like the grocery store, department stores, etc biitching to whoever I was with that I'd happily pay a 2-6% or whatever surcharge on my entire purchase for the privilege of shopping during 18+ shopping hours during the day. I'd do the same for long flights, gladly.

Of course, I'm obviously a child hater who doesn't understand how hard it is to be a parent, instead of someone who truly enjoys children but is enjoying the last few years of my life during which none of them are nor should be my responsibility or problem.

  • Seriously.
I used to fly my first dog home with me to visit my mom.  She has been on about 20 flights and never made a peep except the one time I had to behind a crying kid.  Every time the kid cried my dog started barking.  I felt bad for my seatmate.  It wasn't my fault though:)

  • I assume the lovely children got to stay on the flight.
  • i was thrilled when southwest booted that monster and his moo off that flight. and very unimpressed when they fecking apologized.
  • Did she say anything to the stewardess before commencing yelling and screaming?

  • Omg...I had heard a quick news clip, but I just looked it up on Perez Hilton.  She was physically escorted off the plane for yelling "Little F*ckers" and "Shut the f*ck up" at the 2 kids.

I am dying...I never knew I would like her so much.

  • It just says they were boarding and running up and down the aisles screaming.  She was in first class, so there should have been a flight attendant standing right there.

    Jill...what happened on SW?

  • I would be absolutely murderous if I had paid for the comfort of first class and had to deal with some f*cking ankle biters running up and down the aisles screaming.  MURDEROUS.  Jeans dont even have a place in that cabin, wtf are screaming brats doing there?

  • What the heck was she doing on a commercial flight?

And I seriously thought you were going to say she's dead. it's been that kind of year.

  • I guarantee my kid never acted like that on a plane.
I understand that little babies cry and as annoying as it is, I can tune it out because I understand some parents have to fly and it sucks for them.  But if a child is old enough to run, it is old enough to LISTEN and be taught how to behave in public.

  • "The 38-year-old mom said she hoped to be compensated for the portable crib and diapers she had to buy for the extra night away from home."

Diapers?  She needs to be compensated for diapers that a kid would wear whether it was in a hotel or at home?  And she had to buy a crib?  What's wrong with sleeping in bed with your kid?
She sounds like an entitled ass and her son will turn out like her.

  • yep. and babies have no business being on airplanes anyway. they hate it. pure parental selfishness.
  • Daff I love you sig quote.  :)

  • I get annoyed by kids on flights just as much if not more than the next guy, but I would guess that Ivana could have gone about her complaining in a more mature, intelligent and impressionable way that would have sent more of a message. As it is, she got kicked out and the kids got to stay. The kids win. I'm certain this isn't the result she was hoping for.

That Southwest family is crazy and acting like babies. Southwest should have stood by their original decision.

  • She should have just tripped one of the little terrors. Bust a face or two on the aisle carpet and they'll run back to Mommy. I hate people.

Fuckers like that are the reason I get the side eye when I travel with Chloe. She's never made a peep on a plane, yet I got glares every single time I flew with her from age 2-6. I don't believe there should be kid-free flights; there should be fucktardparent-free flights. Some of us can control our monsters.

Amen. On our flight last week, the guy sitting next to us was traveling with his Maltese. The littleshit was whining as soon as it got on the plane. Guy immediately starts apologizing that the dog is a really bad traveler. Then why did you bring the little butt-sniffer with you, fuckface? I fucking hate little dogs, and I REALLY fucking hate little dogs that whine.

    Sara, I love you.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHA HA HAHA HA HAHAH AAHHA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Agreed.
  • i would gladly pay an extra $50 for a ticket on a kid-free flight. we had 2 screaming little girls behind us on our flight for Thanksgiving and i was livid. the mom was sitting on the other side of the aisle drinking white zin and completely ignoring the fact that her little terrors were kicking my seat the ENTIRE FUCKING FLIGHT. i hate unattended kids so much.

also, it doesn't take a genius to know that bored kids will be rowdy. what's so difficult about buying your kid a fucking coloring book for a flight so it has something to do?

of course, i also think that anybody who weighs over 250lbs should HAVE to buy a second plane ticket because i always end up sitting beside someone who is so large they have to put up the arm rest in between our seats so they can spill into my area. that isn't fair to me.
  • Something I've noticed about rowdy kids is that if I tell them to stop, surprisingly, they have always listened. It's like they just have no boundaries with their own parents, but they feel perfectly natural obeying someone's boundaries when they are given, even if it's by a stranger.

I've yet to have a parent comment to me, because they are usually MIA, but I would have no problem putting a parent in their place for not minding to their own children.  Someone needs to make people accountable for their offspring, and if embarrassing them is what it takes, then so be it.
  • i've heard plenty of stories of parents throwing a fit because someone dared tell their pwecious widdle snowfwakes to behave.
  • i think any animals that are carried on should have to be sedated.
