Costco Flowers?

Hi Gals,

I posted this on my local, but didn't get a lot of response, so I wanted to post it again here.

I'm thinking about ordering my flowers through Costco, but I wanted to ask your opinions.  Is this a good idea, or should I find someone local? I'm completely torn.  I'm pretty close to the end of my budget, so I'm trying to find cheap but still pretty flowers.  I really like the calla lilies they have from Costco, but I've never ordered flowers online before.

Also, all i'm ordering are the bouquets and corsages, as i don't need centerpieces.

TIA!    :)

I also plan on ordering my flowers from Costco.

I decided to try them, so in January I ordered my Mom's birthday flowers from them. I ordered 100 various colored roses for $89. They arrived on time, and we followed the directions that came with them (cut and put in water, leaving the cardboard on for the specified amount of time, etc).

I brought some home. They opened up on schedule within 2-3 days, and looked lovely for over a week.

I have no qualms about ordering from them, especially after reviewing the testimonials on their website.

HOwever, if you are still a bit anxious, if you have a Costco near you, ask around in the floral department for the person that makes the bouquets. I say this because once I was there and the floral designer that puts together the floral arrangements for that store was there at the same time. I got to talking to her, and she said if I ever wanted to order something "special", they will do special arrangments for customers. So, I never looked into it further, and our wedding is almost 18 months away. But that's also a thought. The Costco office in your nearest store might have some contact info.

FYI, I looked at the shipping info online to track my Mom's floral order. From shipping date in Quito Ecuador to delivery to her home was 3 days! That's fresh!

I would, however, recommend having the flowers in your home 2-3 days before the wedding. It took that long for the roses to look their "peak" in my opinion.

    Good luck.

I ordered 300 long stem roses from them for my daughters engagement party last summer.  Wedding date 6/4/11.  We were very pleased with the quality and the prices!  They came in as ordered.  We put them in a cool room, cool water and the next day we arranged them.  It was alot of work to remove the thorns, and the stems.  We had made centerpieces and put the pin tucking in them.  Everyone thought we had spent a small fortune on them but they turned out nice.

The work was alot the day before the event,  and we will not do this for the wedding.  If you have people that dont mind the work you can save lots.  But,  please take this advice if you are working with roses,  make sure to wear gloves!  Mine and my daughters hands and arms were scratched up...and it showed in the pictures!  have fun!!

The bouquets and corsages come pre-made, so the prior poster's warnings won't apply.

Let me know how it turns out. I want the calla lilly bouquets and corsages from Costco too! You can send me a private message via the knot.

Make sure you have them arrive at least 2-4 days before the wedding. Calla lillies last 7-10 days in water, but need time to open.

My fiance buys me 2 dozen roses from Costco every 2 weeks.  They are the most beautiful roses I've found and they are only starting to droop once the new bouquet arrives.  If I was doing my own flowers, I would definitely order them from Costco!
