  • If you decide to have an adults only reception, that's a fact you'll have to accept.  Usually there's an excpetion for babies, but in my opinion, he's almost 2, he should be fine with a babysitter.  However, it depends on the comfort level of the parents.

  • There's a lot of time between now and your wedding. Honestly, just let it go. By the time the wedding comes they be less insistent about him coming.

  • Could he be a ring bearer in the ceremony and then suggest a babysitter for the reception? And with the wedding so far away how do they know he isn't invited?
  • I mean I agree with you about wanting an adults only wedding, but when you decide that, you have to accept that some people may not come if they don't feel comfortable coming without their kids. It sucks that they feel this way, but it is their kid, you can't decide how they feel about it. It's up to you whether you decide to let him come and risk offending all of the other guests whose children weren't invited, or stand your ground and risk them not coming.

  • Your invitations shouldn't say adults only anyway. That's rude.

  • They also may be overreacting at the moment because right now, he's only 4 months old and are probably more protective right now. Hopefully things will work out.

  • For future reference, it's obnoxious to delete the OP. Then no ones knows what the hell is going on in this thread and anybody who had a similar question (which doesn't matter anyway, but it's a principle) won't see this.

Way to go OP. You could have probably saved us from someone else asking the same question.

Why look! There is a new Adults Only reception post just above this one! *stabs self in eyeball*
