Pebbles (Jagore?)

I'm planning on starting my dress shopping this month (woohoo!). I'm definitely hitting Pebbles first, as they seem to carry a lot of what I'm looking for, and they've had great reviews on here. So I have some questions about them (Jagore, I know you've used them and given them high regards, so I'd love your input).

According to their website, there's no need for an appointment. True? I'm planning on going during the week anyway, so I figure there should be no problem. But I just want to make sure that I can walk in on something like a Wednesday morning and not have to wait too long.

Do they allow you to take pics when you haven't agreed to purchase the dress that day?

Do they have an in house alteration staff? And if so, what's the average charge?

TIA!

I did not use Pebbles (I purchased my dress online from a store in Florida) but several of our regular LA knotties have and loved them.  I believe nikojamm and quemiras used them and one of my friends that's not on TK also used them.  I know there's been more but just can't think of names at this moment.

They do not take appointments ever. It is always on a walk-in basis. Going during the week will be great.

They do not allow you to take pictures. :(

    Not sure about the alterations.

They are very nice there. I almost bought a dress there but then I ended up having one made.

    Good luck! :)

Lili's is in Tarzana, a few miles away on Ventura Blvd. Definitely worth checking both places out.

You can also check out Kay's Bridal in Simi Valley. You need to make appointment. The consutants are really friendly and helpful.

Pebble's doesn't take appointments. The first time I went there (8 yrs ago) the consultant was kind of rude.  When I just went there a few months ago, the girl who helped me was very nice.  I was also the only one there (on a sunday). I probably would have ended up buying my gown from them, but the designer was going to charge me a rush fee because my wedding was 4 months away. No way was I buying into that so I went to David's Bridal.  I also went to kay's in Simi Valley, but their dresses were over my budget.

I had a wonderful experience at Pebbles.  I found the dresses I was looking at were very reasonable priced and my gal was very attentive.  When we were initially looking at a certain type of dress and I was trying them on, she thought a different type would look good on me and that is they type we ended up getting!

I am sorry that some people had a bad experience, but I wouldn't count them out because of a couple of people when I've heard many people have positive experiences as well as my own!

RE the alterations... I'm not really sure because I took mine to Reene (not too far from Pebbles) whom tons of gals on TK have gone to and loved!

    Good Luck!!!

Thanks so much for all the help, ladies! I've mainly heard great things about Pebbles since I've been on here, so hopefully they turn out well for me. And I'll definitely check into Lili's, too, since it's close by.

FSIL and I are comparing schedules for when will be the best time for us to go for my first gown search. I'm super excited :D

i went there, and had a mediocre experience. i wouldnt exactly call our consultant rude, but she wasnt nearly as helpful as other consultants i met with on my search.

they do have lots of gorgeous dresses there, so i'd say just go for it and check it out. no pictures though (although my sneaky little sister did manage to snap one camera phone shot, haha).

i got my dress at the bridal collection in thousand oaks. small little boutique, but our experience was amazing. i'd highly recommend them!

    good luck :).
