Plus-Sized

Difficulty Finding MOB Dress

Hi all!  I haven't posted here before (usually stick to my wedding month board) but I'm really hoping you guys can help me out.  My mother is about a size 22 and is having a lot of difficulty finding a dress that she feels comfortable in for the wedding.

We went to David's Bridal last night and they had one that she liked but the biggest size in-store was an 18 and so she could barely get it on & didn't want to come out to look in the mirror.  We can order it online, however they have a VERY strict return policy so it makes me a little wary.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a place that sells attractive plus-sized formalwear?  She wants something to cover her arms, and would like a dress with an empire waist if at all possible.  TIA ladies, I really appreciate it!

Re: Difficulty Finding MOB Dress

  • Try places like Dillards, JcPenny, Macys, Sears. My mom actually found her dress at Stage!
  • I'd check out Lane Bryant. They've got a lot of cute, nice looking dresses :-)

Catherine's would be worth checking out too.

<div>Or even a similar dress in a bigger size.  That way, she can see if the fit is close to what she wants.</div>

Yes, lane bryant! Look online before you go in. Also, I've recently stumbled upon kiyonna. com. These dresses are sure to make any plus size women look amazing. Very classy and modern.
