we went to the Great Falls in Virginia and I thought he was going to ask, but he didn't... thenwhen we got home and I put on my PJ's and was laying in bed. He brought in a huge package and told me to open it.  I opened it and inside was my very first guitar that we were refurbishing and painting a couple years ago, but it got broken in the process and I was really upset, cause it was my first guitar and it looked unrepairable.  I threw it out....  Apparently after I threw it out he took it out of the trash and had been building it back together for the past two years.  I started crying as soon as I saw the guitar because it was such a surprise and meant so much, then he told me he put a pick inside it so I could try it out.  So I reach inside for the pick, and there was the ring.  He got down on one knee and asked.  I said yes :)

    WOW! Congrats- what a fantastic story! It's even better that he waited until it was more special for the two of you. I am sure you are so excited!

    Finally. Now you can stop making threads about when you think he might do it. Ok, that aside, congratulations! That sounds like a truly personal and very heartfelt proposal! Very cute, and well thought out on his part.
    He pretty much had me at "hello".

    Not to take away from the actual proposal, but that guitar thing is amazing. That was very meaningful for him to work on something for that long.Not that I really know either of you well, but I think that is a great way to have proposed. Congratulations!
