USPS vent

GAH!!!!! #%^@%^#&-ing HATE the $@%@%&-ing post office.

I took my sample invite to the post office 3 weeks ago to be weighed and the clerk sold me $.64 stamps. I take 120 invites in today and am told that I need $.84 stamps. Now I have to ruin my beautiful invites with a #%$-ing George Washington stamp!!!! My only other option - the one I think I will suck it up and go with - is to pay almost $30 in overage to use the rose stamps ($.44) for the difference. Their response - "Sorry, we don't know why the other clerk would have told you that." Good thing I still have the receipt for the first set of stamps with that woman's clerk number on it. I will at least have the satisfaction of telling her to her face that she is an idiot who cost me an hour of stamping, 4 separate trips to the post office and $30 in surplus postage!

ahhh what a pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is it because of price increase jan 22?

well i emailed my invites dec 31 and just got one back yesterday (3 weeks later) saying underliverable-why did this take so long to come back!?

I mailed mine out 1/2 and one of my bridesmaids has STILL not gotten hers yet. WHAT?? and then they seem to have lost a $2000 cashier check. Thankfully I can cancel it and reissue it but it's still a freakin hassle!! Never sending anything USPS ever again.

I had at least 1 invite that I know of get lost in the mail and another returned to me. I hate USPS.

Me too!! Just found out yesterday, that my only 2 cousins in MA that I sent invites to, 1 received hers and the other texted me saying " umm...I didn't get an invite, was I missed?"...So yeah, I hate USPS too!!!

My RB's parents (my cousin) didn't get theirs. On Saturday she's like I thought X was in the wedding but we haven't gotten our invite yet. I almost died. I'm going to hand deliver one to her this weekend.

I know..I was so embarrased..unfortunately, I can't hand deliver hers or I would..I told her I would send another out..but she said not too, she'll RSVP on her sisters (who received hers...) I told FI how awful I felt...I know we can't control the mail, but of all things WHY a wedding invitation!!! Glad you'll beable to hand deliver yours...I didn't give this sort of issue a thought...

I mailed a Christmas card to a friend of mine in the UK at the beginning of December and it took a month to get back to me. And when I brought it in to the post office, they couldn't tell me why it would have been rejected and resent it - now that same person has gotten the invitation (mailed the same day!) but not the Christmas card. I was going to just toss the card into the invite, but the women at the post office said it should still get there.

I also had another Christmas card come back, nearly the same time frame (though with that person I haven't been in contact with her in a couple of years and I think she's probably moved).

OMG I had almost the same thing happen. I took my invitation up there last friday and wanted to see how much postage it would be. Since there was a bump where the bow tied it added .20 extra cents on to the postage. So I took the ribbon off and put little rhinestones on the ribbon. IT looked really good either way. But any way the girl told me having it like that would be .64 cents stamps. So I got those did my invitations and went up there tuesday. When I got there I asked her to hand cancel them. Well since I had 250 invitations she was like I can only do 60. So I counted her out 60 invitations and she was like this is the wrong postage. She said I needed .84 on each. I was like HECK NO I was told it was .64. She was like by who.. AND I SAID BY YOU!!! I threw a fit and she did it and sent them out. I went to 2 different post offices and had to throw fits to get them to hand cancel them and argue about the postage so I could get all of my invites out since they could only do 60..

I cant stand going there!!! They just make me SO MAD.. but at least my invitations are finally out.

At least I am not the only one with this problem, I too had to put the 20cent stamp on mine and was told my response cards were not long enough! I'm using them anyways, the first time we printed them with the wrong zip code and I am not making them again.

I just hope the post office doesn't shred them or something when people try to mail them back to me.

i had the same problem. i had the nice 64 cent stamps and now they arent enough. the USPS really need to all get on the same page and inform there workers on whats going on. i went to two different post offices to try to get answers on the weight and the amount of postage i need to put on them and everyone looked at me like i was speaking a different language!! it made me soo mad!!!!

now i need to put ugly PENNY stamps on my invtes... grr.. but what can ya do i guess..

My MOH hasn't received her invite yet & it was sent over 2 weeks ago. From NE to CO does not take that long. Makes me wonder who else hasn't got theirs Good to know I'm not the only one with this issue but it really sucks!
