Where do I need to change my name? SSA, Drivers License.... banks, credit cards.... loans... what am I missing?

-Other bills if they're in your name (cell phone?)

-All your online accounts - especially if you have a new email address

-Catalog/magazine subscriptions

-Alma Maters or other organizations you're a part of

-Church stuff - if they have an online system, you can do it yourself, otherwise they can do it for you, but they can link yours and H's accounts together so you only get one newsletter, track your giving as one, etc.

Any legal documents (wills, deeds, DNR, etc)

I would probably also send a note to your pediatrician, any schools, day care, etc that have your contact info for Carter.

For the IRS you won't need anythingbecause your W-2 will have your new name on it at the end of the year. Besides the things listed above I also changed it at the beauty salon or anywhere Imake appointments.

I think you got everything that I did- I also changed mine at the Vet's office for Winston- you might want to do that for Sugar

Car registration, bank and credit card accounts, all insurance policies, deeds/titles, driver's license, employee records, investment accounts, life insurance policy, medical/dental records, memberships, passport, post office records, SS card, stock certificates, tax agency records (state and federal), voter registration records, and any wills/trusts.

You're welcome. I found that list online and saved it.
I don't know if you technically are allowed to but I am going to wait as well. I don't plan on using my passport soon so I'm just holding off on it.

Did you just get your passport? If yes, then change it right away - it is free if w/in a year of getting the passport. After that you have to pay for a new one & as many of us know - they are expensive now...

I actually got mine in 2007... so I am thinking it actually expires in a few months. They are good for 5 years right?

Also- I talked to the DMV and they said there was no reason to change my name on my title... they said if/when I ever sell my car that I just sign my old last name on the title once its sold. WOO HOO! One less thing to worry about!

Passports actually last for 10 years, so if you plan on flying anywhere before 2017, you'll need to change it. Mine expires in 2014, so I can't decide whether it's worth my money to update it. I probably will though, since we want to travel again before TTC.

I am 26 and have never left the country.... and with a 4 yr old and baby on the way I dont see it happening unless it is VERY planned out!

You need to first start out with the name change petition...follow the wikihow name change guide. I have used name change packages before as a great wedding gift.
