    Oh It's me this week!

How did you and your FI meet?  We met near the end of our freshman year of college through mutual friends.  We really liked each other but we didn't want to start anything before we left for the summer.  We started "officially" dating the beginning of sophomore year.

What is the most exciting part of wedding planning?  Um most exciting?  Probably just the idea that I'm planning a wedding to the man I can't wait to marry.   It's pretty remarkable to think that I've found someone who wants to spend the rest of his life with me :)

But I do love when I get to check things off my list.  I am a crazy listmaker so whenever I get to check something off, I get excited.

Who is your favorite DIY project?  Well since my invitations aren't done yet, I would have to say my cake topper.  I'm pretty proud of that sucker!

How did FI propose?  We were celebrating our 5th anniversary up at MSU and we took a drive through campus.  He pulled over my Beaumont Tower, told me he wanted to take a "romantic" walk (he's so sneaky...) and then once we got there he got down on one knee and asked.  I don't remember what all he said but I remember saying "oh my god" a million times.

Who is your favorite vendor that you can't wait to work with?  The Chapel I guess.  It's such a cute place and I can't wait to see it all done up.

    What led you to TK?
One of my friends from college got married and told me about it.  She was a semi-regular on the Detroit board and said you ladies were fantastic with great vendor recs.  And she was spot-on!

If you had unlimited amounts of time and money, where would you go for your dream honeymoon?  It would be an around the world trip.  I've been to Europe a couple times but FI has never been.  So we would love to go all over Europe and then hit up the Caribbean.

How fired up are you after the game this weekend?!?
OH.MY.GOD so fired up!!!!  I was so thankful they played the game here in Minnesota because I would have been super pissed if they didn't.  But yeah, it was a great game :)

Since you and your FI are already living together, how do you think "married life" will differ from "engaged life"?  Not too much.  Engaged life isn't all that different from dating life except for now I have an obsessive, time-consuming hobby.  We are hoping to buy a house before the wedding so I think that will change things up a bit but that's about it.

OH! I know, combining finances will be interesting.  We are still very "roommate" like in the fact that we still buy groceries separately, pay all our bills equally, etc.  So that will be a little challenging to combine finances I think.

What gift(s) are you excited to register for?
Hmm I'm not too sure.  Probably kitchen-y stuff (we just got a blender last month after Todd's surgery) so our kitchen is in desperate need of a maturity makeover.

What are some of your non-negotiables that you just had to have for your wedding?  My non-negotiable was the photographer.  I was going to have a fantastic photographer, money be damned.  My mom's biggest regret was having a friend take her photos because they didn't turn out well at all.  So she always told me to hire a professional and splurge on photos.

What are your FI's non-negotiables for the wedding?  Getting married at MSU (although that was both of ours) but his was a Catholic wedding.

What person had the most profound effect on your life, and why?
Probably my mom.  My dad worked nights growing up so he wasn't all that involved in the day to day stuff.  So my mom took care of everything.  She's one of my best friends and I love her very much :)

Where do you plan on going for your honeymoon?
Currently, It's Pun.ta Cana in the Dominican.  FI is in charge of this so we'll see what he decides.  My only restriction was that it has to be warm with a beach.

What is your occupation?  I work in an Admissions Office at a local University.

How's you new kitty doing!?  She's doing fantastic thanks for asking!!  Although she's been banned from a few rooms because she's done some not-so good things.  She's peed on Todd's jeans 3 times now so she's no longer allowed in the Office/his closet.  She's also not allowed int the bedroom because she found a tear in the fabric on the box springs and got inside the box springs.

But other than that she's doing amazing.  I'm surprised at how much I love her since I'm generally not a cat person.  We love her :)

What is your favorite part about your job? My co-workers.  They are fantastic and make it a lot of fun.

What is your least favorite part?  Telling people they've been denied.  Some take it pretty well, others not so much.  I try to avoid it as much as possible if I can.

If you could have any job in the world what would it be and why?  I've never had a dream job or anything I'm working towards necessarily.

However, I do think I would make a fantastic efficiency expert.  I am all about finding the quickest, most efficient way to do things.  And it annoys me when people aren't.

I think this thread is getting ignored now that it's sticky.  I'll liven it up with some questions.  You have 3 hours to respond.  Or else....

I know weddings aren't about money...but what do you plan on doing with the money you get for the wedding?

    Are you wearing a veil?

Any disagreements with FMIL over wedding planning?

How about with your own mom?

How many siblings do you have?  Older or younger?  Are they in your wedding party?

How many kids do you want to have?

How long do you plan on waiting after you're married to have kids?

Do you and your FI plan to stay in Michigan for the long run?

Are yours and FI's parents still married?  Or remarried?

Do you want any more pets besides kitty?

I know weddings aren't about money...but what do you plan on doing with the money you get for the wedding?  Putting it towards the house probably.  We are hopefully going to get started on this relatively soon and will need to replenish our bank account.

Are you wearing a veil?  Yes.  Cathedral length (for now anyway)  I sold the previous veil I had bought for a new one so hopefully it goes well with the dress.

Any disagreements with FMIL over wedding planning?  Not really.  We actually get along really well and she trusts my judgement.  FI's brother got married 3 weeks before we got engaged and so they've been through it all before.  Although she's mentioned many a time that I am much more organized so she doesn't have to worry/nag us about things because she knows I've already thought of it and that it will get done  :)

The only thing that FI has had to lay down the law on is the guestlist.  If he's never met them, they aren't invited.  Period.

How about with your own mom?  She lives in Minnesota so we don't really get to do anything wedding related all that often.  Although she told me she doesn't really care for the guestbook I created (she doesn't like the black pages, she would prefer them to be white.)  But we also have very similar tastes but she understands that this is my wedding not her's so she usually keeps her differing opinions to herself.  She wouldn't even tell me which wedding dress she preferred when I had it narrowed down to 2.  I ended up picking the one she liked better she later told me.

How many siblings do you have?  Older or younger?  Are they in your wedding party?  I have 1 older brother who will not be in the wedding party.  I asked him when I was home a couple days ago if he wanted to be an usher and he said, "as little responsibility as possible."  He will be walking my mom down the aisle though much to his displeasure.

How many kids do you want to have?  We want 2 kids.  "It's best to play man-on-man defense rather than zone."  I can't remember where I heard that but it's so true, you never want to be outnumbered!

How long do you plan on waiting after you're married to have kids?  Awhile.  We are only 25 so at least a few years.  Plus FBIL and FSIL are having a baby in December so I can get all my maternal "yearnings" (if you will) out on my soon to be niece!

Do you and your FI plan to stay in Michigan for the long run?  Yes.  FI has a huge family that is very close so I could never imagine him moving.  Hopefully my family moves to Michigan when we have kids (as my mom has said she will.)

Are yours and FI's parents still married?  Or remarried?  Yes, they are both still married.  We are both very lucky.  I think this is one of the reasons why wedding planning has been relatively easy--not a long of family drama to deal with!

Do you want any more pets besides kitty?  Yes.  We had a deal that we would get a cat first (Todd's preference) and then once we got a house get a dog (my preference.)  But Bella is not a fan of dogs so we'll see how this works out...
