Uplighting Recs and experience with?

Our reception hall gets really dark once the chandelier is dimmed. We're looking to brighten up the room with some uplighting. Don't really know too much about it. Can you list your price quotes and what that includes.

Thanks!

RC Uplighting is by far the most affordable in the area and they receive constant rave reviews on this board. I was very impressed with Ryan when I met him at our trial and am very excited to use his services!

We're getting 20 lights for $695 but I know he has a 14 light option which is cheaper. I had gotten a quote from Boston Uplights for at least 1200.

RC Uplighting gets great reviews! Also try http://www.couture-designs.com/lighting_services I've had really good luck with RI vendors in terms of cost.

What was your cost with Boston Uplights and what did that include?

    Thanks!

Hi, I secured a lighting package at my wedding venue (The Topsfield Commons) and it consists of 12 wireless LED's.  They light up the large columns in the grand ballroom.  Each light is $75 and an attendant stays there and changes them based on what you want.  I think that It depends on the space you are in whether or not uplights work.  You can call or email The Topsfield Commons, they are awesome and Im sure would be happy to reccomend their lighting vendor to you.
    Hope it helps!

I also talked with RC Uplighting and Boston Uplights.  We went with Boston Uplights.  The reason being that RC doesn't have wireless LED lights or at least they didn't at the time we were looking.  Because of my venue it was very important to me to have small, wireless lights.  I really don't like the look of intrusive big black lights on the floor, it doesn't look good.

Boston Uplighting stays on-site for your whole event to make sure that none of the lights get blocked, moved, burn out, etc.  They will also adjust the lighting to correspond with the change in lighting outside so that it is a gradual fade-in to the reception.  They can also change the colors for you as much as you want during the event is that is what you like!

We are paying $1400 for 16 wireless LED uplights.

We used RC Uplighting.  It was around 600 for 14 lights.  I am sure it depends on the room, but there was no way we, or anyone else, would have noticed wires or lights on the ground in our room.  And our room wasn't even big.  It was just that people weren't wandering around the perimeter of the room.  The owners also stay the whole night to make sure everything goes smoothly.  So I had a hard time justifying paying twice as much just to eliminate the wires.  And I am 100% pleased with my choice.  RC Uplighting was awesome!  One of my favorite vendors.

I just got a quote for RC Uplighting and for 20 lights they're saying it's $950 plus $75 travel fee (reception is in Nashua, NH)  :o(

...I'm a little disapointed it's not ~$700 like previous posts

In some spaces it would definitely not be worth the extra money for the wireless lights.  In my venue there would have been cords running across the floor between columns.  It would have been noticeable!!

We talked to both RC & Boston Uplights and went with Boston Uplights. I loved the couple at RC, don't get me wrong - they are awesome, but the extra mile that Boston Uplights went for us was amazing. Paul made our wedding - the lighting was unreal. He went above and beyond the call of duty, worth every cent. He even brought way more lights then we were quoted and "filled out" all the spaces. The wireless technology was really key to our set up - we had different areas that needed to be lit, and by going on remote, they could all be changed at once. My sister went with him for her wedding as well.

http://www.pensack.com/previews/ - scroll to the bottom to see all the uplight photos that Paul took - yes, he's also an amazing photographer. He caught some shots of us during the ceremony that are among my favorites.
