marriage license

Hello everybody!

Wedding season is in full swing... and I am getting nervous! LOL

I was curious how everyone got to clark county to pick up there license... Did you use a taxi? if so how much did it cost? Did you walk? How far was it from the strip (Mandalay Bay)? Did you rent a car?

Jeff and I are not renting a car, and we aren't sure if anyone in our party is, so we will need to pick up our license some other way. I was just curious who did what so I can plan!

Thanks so much!

It is not close enough to walk. It is downtown LV near Fremont street so you will need some type of transportation to get you there.

H and I had a rental car that we used so it was fairly easy. Taxi or hiring a limo might be other options.

We had a rental car for the week so transportation was no issue. If we had not had the rental, we would have probably done the limo service thru our chapel.

We we're taken there as part of our airport pickup from our hotel/wedding package.

I would only do a limo if it's included in your wedding package because even if you do the express registration, it can take you 45 minutes or more to get through the line depending on when you go and that would mean you get charged two hours of limo time.  We picked ours up on a Thursday morning around 10am and had the pre-registration internet thing and it still took us 45 minutes to get in and out.  I felt sorry for the people that didn't pre-register, that line was moving at less than half the speed.

It might be worth it to just rent a car than do a limo or cab. The cabs get so expensive, especially with traffic! You can get a car rental so cheap! You can drive down there and park at the Nugget and just walk down the street. That's always been the easiest to get to the courthouse/bureau.

Ditto on the car.  You can get one fairly cheap and it will come in handy.  i didn't think we would need one, but it was cheaper to book our rooms with a  car than without.

Our WC got us a car to the license bureau no extra charge.  I just asked and she made it happen.  I had also already paid in full so it might have been a hassel to add a new charge.

Thanks for the advice everyone! The only reason we aren't renting a car is because Jeff won't be 25 until October of this year... Do they let you rent a car if your under 25 now?

They do, you'll just have to add an additional fee. But I believe Hertz and another car company rents to 21 and older without the fee.

You're welcome! Happy to help! H and I had to rent a car last minute(my car didn't cooperate after our rehearsal! lol). He's under 25 too but we rented from Budget. They even waived the fee for us, we called and told the lady it was our wedding. They also gave us a low rate for such a last minute thing.

Enterprise rents under 21 too.  Are both of you under 21?  If only 1, than both don't need to be on the car rental

We took a taxi and it was about $35 roundtrip. It took us a total of 5 minutes to process everything inside.
