Stupid things you get annoyed at

This can be WR or NWR....

I get annoyed by so many things... there's something wrong with me  :)

1) Loud sneezers
2) People who lick their fingers to turn a page
3) The weirdo in the office behind me who SLAMS his fist on the stapler to staple papers together.... REALLY?
4) Slow drivers in the fast lane
5) People who have OBVIOUSLY WAY MORE than 10 items in the express checkout lane
6) THE PHONE CALLS I KEEP GETTING FROM WEDDING VENDORS FROM A BRIDAL SHOW I ATTENDED OVER A YEAR AGO (...the one show I was naive and gave out my real #)

There's lots more but I think I should stop here before you all think I'm out of my mind

  • HAHAHA this was good for a laugh.

I'll add: People who walk on the wrong side of the sidewalk and/or stop in the middle of the sidewalk. I've been known to throw elbows.

(This is really a NYC thing, but I feel like it's kind of equivalent to people driving slowly in the fast lane.)

  • haha the WTF thread wasn't enough today!

I fell for #6 too, and got calls until I moved to the UK so changed my number. Changing your number may be your only option! I still get emails from some, but I can deal with that.

I get annoyed at ppl who stand at the bottom of an escalator. WTF? Don't you understand that there is a chain of ppl behind you that are going to be on their asses if you don't move the F out of the way?? I see this ever day on my way to work on the subway - arrrrrg.

And re your other post, I agree. Not to be mean, or anything, because I think in general we are pretty nice on this board . . . but it's weird.

Also, apologies for being a huge PW today.

  • I hate when i am getting off the elevator at work and i'm greeted by someone in my face because they are already trying to get in the door. Hello, you are supposed to wait and see if people are getting off before you come barging through.
  • i HATE HATE HATE when people frantically enter an elevator before letting you exit.

i also hate when people using abnormally loud voices or shrill tones to speak in public when it is not necessary. a man at the grocery yesterday was screaming about how his wife was trying out a new exercise class, and i patiently glared at him as i listened to his lame story for about 2 minutes before we saw me and took his volume down to a whisper. CONTROL THE VOLUME OF YOUR VOICE DIPWAD!
  • I have another one, actually.

I absolutely hate when people don't understand the difference between "your" and "you're". I'm not talking isolated incidents (although I NEVER make this mistake, and you can absolutely quote me on that). I'm talking about repeated misuse of the words.

It annoys me more than anything else, to be quite honest. And I know it's stupid.

  • ditto bridetobe - the other one that gets me is the confusing of "there" and "their" and "they're". If you have passed the fifth grade, you should know the difference between these three words.

Along this line, I hate when people write questions in emails and end them with periods instead of question marks.  It makes it hard sometimes to know what they are trying to say.  This is the easiest concept to grasp!

    I get annoyed easily.

Slow drivers. Or people who enter the highway RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and I have to either swerve or brake hard!

Fake people- acting so nice in front of your face and then talk sh*t about you behind your back.

People who don't pay attention to their grammar.

People who act like they know everything.

    People with bad breath.

And people who use facebook to whine on every.single.status. I DON'T CARE how messed up your life is!

  • I get annoyed when people pull into a gas station and park their car at the first pump instead of pulling through to the next one.  I don't want to have to do some dumb manuever to get my car close to the pump.

I also hate when people walk really close behind me (this happens almost daily when I hike the mountain.)  Seriously, go around me, or hang back.  Don't lurk a foot behind me at the same pace.

I hate when somebody is sick when they just sniffle CONSTANTLY.  Just go blow your nose.

I hate when people talk on their phone at the gym.  Ugh...

  • Totally agree with the slow drive situation, especially on high ways!  Move it over or speed up!

I also hate when you hold the door for someone and they either dont say thank you or walk in like your holding it as a doorman!  I feel like that happens to me all the time at work!
  • Mwhahahaha! We have that too, but they aren't automatic flushers, so no excuse! I think its one cuplrit trying to save water. Groooooss!!! One of my biggest is people who drive fast cars slower than the speed limit! Why did you buy the mustang if you're gonna drive like my Nana!? BTW My Nana doesn't even have a license, so she'd be pretty slow. In turn, I hate people driving mini vans like total nut jobs!! In one day I was stuck behind a sports car doing 15 MPH below the speed limit, and then was cut off by a lunatic in a mini van with little kids in it. Its twisted.
  • I like this thread :)

-People who CONSTANTLY cancel plans with lousy excuses, or pretend "Oh sorry I just got your message". I have a friend like this and I love her, but she drives me crazy.
-People who think their time is more valuable than mine. If you're going to be late or cancel, that's fine. Just let me know so I can make other plans.
-People who talk during movies or TV shows.
-Sharing my dessert - if you wanted one, why didn't you order one??
-When people use my computer. For some reason it just bothers me, even if I'm not using it. I'm like a child who immediately wants my forgotten, ignored toy back
    -Like everyone else, bad grammar/spelling

I'm sure I have more - But my lunch break is over. Back to work!

  • It annoys me if I go out to dinner and someone oders the same thing as I do.  And it's not because I want to try something their food.  It's just cause it seems so unoriginal.

I like Rebi also hate sharing food (or dessert) unless I actually want to share. Usually when I'm eating something I have the intention to eat all of it and I know if i give you some of my tiramisu I will miss that bite later on.

Grammar:  COULD OF instead of Could've, AHHH!!  That includes should of and would of.

Also being from NYC, when people don't walk on the escalator or stand on the left side!!  Stay to your RIGHT!!!  And pretty much every thing that was mentioned befrore regarding sidewalks, groups of people, etc.

When I sneeze and people don't bless me :(

When my Italian students are reading in English and can't be bothered to say the 's' at the end of words!!

I'm sure there are soooo many others but I can't think of them.

    Fun thread K888!!

OMG, you read my mind. It has always been a habit to open the door for women older than me. In my job that is almost everyone. Well I just noticed that the same lady would NEVER say thank you! Last year I got so mad I told her "you're welcome" in my most professional but low stern voice. She looked at me and finally said oh, thank you.

Ask me if I ever opened the door for that heffa again?

I'll be honest here - I never realized there was etiquette for escalators. I usually stand in the middle of it. Now - the walking escalators at airports - I treat those like a sidewalk and stay to the right and walk.

I hate when people get the expression "I couldn't care less" incorect. When you say "I could care less" - it doesn't make sense..because you're saying...that you could infact care less about what they're saying - so you do to some degree care.

I also hate how Walmart checks you receipt when you're leaving. I have 6 bags of groceries, and a 24 pack of coke - and they want to see the receipt...to make sure I paid for the coke....really?

I'm one of those people. :p I use to say "Bless you" everytime people sneezed. Then one day I had an epiphany. It's just soo much stuff cuz someone sneezed.

    Person one: ::Sneeze::
    Person two: "Bless you"
    Person  One: "Thank you"
    Person two: "no problem"

I remember I got called out in HS once because someone said "Bless you" and I didn't say anything. I didn't even know "thank you' was an appropriate response to that until HS and then the whole thing just annoyed the hell outta me. We don't say things when people fart or cough or any other body sound :p

I still say it sometimes - but sometimes I just don't.
