Guest book book?

Hey ladies!
I was thinking about buying a nice coffeetable book that relates to my fi and I, and then having a bucket of sharpees and having our guests sign that?

Would you be ok signing in a book? Does this sound like a lame idea?

Honesty and other creative ideas welcome!

Re: Guest book book?

  • I don't really see why not. What kind of book are you thinking about? Obviously a coffee-table book...but one with lots of pictures? I'd feel weird signing over a picture, or overtop of text, but as long as there are lots of blank pages or places to sign, it would be fine.

  • My idea was to have a nice portrait done and frame it with a border you can write on and have all my guests sign all around the picture. I know myself if i had a regular book it wouldn't do anything but collect dust!
  • you could sign in a blank area of a picture - like in the sky - obviously you wouldn't want to sign right across someone's face!! They're usually lots of margins and things that you could sign as well - and if you have the regular sharpies, it would be fairly easy to read the name/message over some text - if you have sharpie pens, it might be a bit harder.

[QUOTE]I think that would be a great idea. If I remember correctly, the old mod on Snarky Brides got married on Martha's Vineyard and had her guests sign a coffee table book about the area where they married. Other Knotties have had guests sign Disney story books and things like that. We did a guest book on Shutterfly with pics of us and left a few blank pages for guests to sign.

  • Sweet thanks!
I was looking at one of photos of italy, and another of maps, I think I'd have to order them both and check them out to see that there was space, but I would think there would be.

    Thanks gals
  • Our DD and SIL did something very similar to mikduds. They created a book on shutterfly of photos of them, them with their dogs, them with family, friends. Then they had sharpies and had everyone sign it yearbook style. It was very cute.

"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • I think this is a cool idea! :*) We are looking to do something like the shutterflies book but maybe this is better.

Maybe you can leave the book with pens on the table with a little "guestbook" sign so people know what it is. and you can have someone in your bridal party sign it and you can leave that page open so people can see what it is.

you should also pick a book that isnt too dark...it will be hard to write on, or make sure you have a mix of balck and silver markers to be safe.
  • We are getting our guests to sign wine works and we are placing them in a really cool vase with a fake mock up of my bouquet in it. We are winos so it works perfectly!
