Now I've gone and done it...

I put a deposit down on a dress at DB two weeks ago. But found this one when I went dress shopping with a friend of mine today.

Anyone else have dress regret?

Advice?

Was it at DB? They may be willing to apply your deposit to the dress you like. It never hurts to ask.

If not, how much was the deposit? Can you risk losing it?

Close your eyes, which dress do you envision being married in? Which one says "bride" to you?

Finally, you loved both dresses at some point, now you may only be able to wear one, does it bother you that you can't wear dress #1 or does it bother you that you can't wear dress #2? Which dress does it possibly affect you more if you can't wear it on your special day?

Good luck! Hope it works out!

I like them both, but I think the first dress was my "safe dress." I'm not all that thin, and all the poufiness at the bottom hides my problem spots. The second dress is not one I would have thought to try on (its from Alfred Angelo, btw, so not the same company) because I am thick. And it does so much more for my body than I thought it would. It doesn't make me look wide- its flattering through the waist and hips.

And I know I'm like the BAJILLIONTH bride to say she's going to lose weight- but I really am. I've lost 20 pounds since the summer and totally intend to keep on truckin. If I keep the momentum I could be pretty tiny come spring time, and then a dress like the second one will be stunning on my curves.

So its safe vs. sultry. I am going to give DB a call and see if they'll work with me. I do only have a deposit with them, and the dress hasn't been ordered yet.

    Congrats on the weight loss!

Also, I noticed you have 7 months to go. When do you have to order by?

Like, the actual deadline, not when the store wants you to order, when would you have to order each dress?

Also, can they rush order the dress? What's the date (and the fee) for that?

Find out the info from both stores, that way you know how much time you have before you have to make a decision!

    Good luck!

(And ps - you are not the only girl who has loved two dresses! The dress I bought was the practically the last one I tried on! Before that though I had loved another dress for close to a year!)

They want me to order by December, which I don't have a problem with. And I did call them- I can keep on looking and order a different dress. I've noticed a lot of similarities in the dress styles between DB and AA, so I'm hoping they have a DB equivalent to the one I love at AA.

I was gonna go today, but I'm squeezing so much into so lIittle time...10 hours in PA dress shopping yesterday, work 13 overnight last night, a three hour nap, then swimming, "meeting" with the venue and photog appointment that I just got home from.  I'm pretty flippin exhausted!

And I guess I'm being a little selfish. I keep dress shopping with my one friend and I've only taken my mom and sister once. I know no one is ever as interested in your wedding as you are, but I guess feelings can get hurt if I don't at least ask them.

ok, i'm about to make you feel REAL good about yourself.... i bought THREE dresses!!!  Yes, I said THREE!!  So much emphasis is put on the dress and how you look that day that I was terrified of making the wrong choice.  Also, I felt pressured by the people I was with every time I bought one (lol- that sounds funny to say).

Here's the thing- you are going to look beautiful in either dress you decide on.  You need to make this decision yourself WITHOUT the help of others around you.  For me, I actually was not going to buy dress #3, I tried it on right next to dress #2, but my mom and aunts told me that dress #3 looked so much better on me....well, how was I going to now get married in a dress that I didn't look my best in.... so I bought dress #3.  Do I regret it?  No, I love how I looked on my wedding day, and the dress was beautiful.  Would I have loved how I looked on my wedding day in dress #2?  Absolutely!

Anyway, I hope that helps at least a little!  The best piece of advice I can give you though, STOP LOOKING!! :)

Now I am so curious as to what the two dresses are that you like!

Anyway, December means you have some time to think things over, and like pp said, too many people can give you too many opinions!

Mocknine - three dresses? Wow! But you look stunning in your siggy pic :)

Anyway - since you are having fun shopping with your friend, that's ok. (Does your mom know though?) How about taking mom and sis out to the two stores to show them the two dresses that you love, and while there, if they see anything that they want to see you in, let them each select a dress. (That way, they are involved in the shopping, but you only have three to try on at most at each store. The one you love, and if they each pick one.)

But yeah, it can get overwhelming. But either way, with either dress, you will look beautiful!
