I am sad

Yesterday we dropped off Tucker (our dog) at our neighbor's for a few hours. They have 3 daughters and 2 of them were my students this past year. They have 2 yellow labs too.

We did that so Tucker could get used to their dogs, house, people, etc before we have to leave him there for two weeks when we're on our honeymoon. I am soooooo sad, I've never been away from Tucker this long. Actually I will not see Tucker for about four weeks because I'll need to stay in the cities (FI will be home with him until he has to leave for the wedding).

I just wish I could explain this to him and tell him that I'll be coming back.

Please tell me Tucker will have a lot of fun. He was all smiles yesterday when we picked him up, quite exhausted though. They say he was running around the entire time, playing with their dogs. I hope Tucker will at least forget about us for a while just because he's having so much fun.

    Sounds like he'll be well taken care of and will have lots of fun with the other dogs and kids.  Don't worry about him!  He'll be happy to see you when you get back, but I bet he'll have tons of fun while you're away.

    My dog (who is also Tucker!) will be staying with my parents at their farm while we're away.  We LOVE taking him down there b/c he plays with their lab and runs and runs and runs, until he is completly exhausted, then wakes up and hits is hard again the next day.  I'm sure he won't miss us at all while we're gone!

    Tucker will be just fine... especially since he'll have other dogs to play with.

    I know how you feel, though... I feel SO BAD leaving my dog with my mom while we are on our honeymoon for 2 weeks.  :(  She's super clingy and tends to get anxious/depressed when I'm away.  Hopefully she'll adjust quickly since my mom will be home all day with her (she's a teacher and will be on summer break).

    Aww I totally understand how you feel!  I take my pup over to my moms whenever I am away, so she will be with her for just over 2 weeks for the wedding and I miss her just thinking about it! 

    But Tucker will be fine!  Like katieK said it sounds like he is having a ball and will be taken care of!  I know that my pup is spoiled rotten at my moms so as much as she may miss me I know she is being loved!

    He'll be fine! Just like others said, he'll be entertained with other dogs and kids! :) But I totally know what you mean, sometimes I really wish you could explain to pets what's going on and that everything will be ok!!!

    awh tucker will be ok.  I am going to miss our dog terribly too but I know that he will be in good hands with his grandma and grandpa :)  Just be thankful Tucker got along with the other dogs he will have a great time :)

    Aww tucker will be fine. I would be sad too I I had a dog an had to leave it while I was on vacation. At least he has other dogs and kids to play with.

    It sounds like Tucker will be in good hands while you're away so I wouldn't feel bad at all! I know how you feel though - I definitely miss our pups when we are away. Our dogs, on the other hand, love going to stay at their "Dogparents" house in the country. In fact, they get kind of mopey when they have to come home! I'm sure he will be fine and will have plenty of other dogs/toys/people etc to keep him occupied. Laughing

    Awww you poor thing. I know how you feel :( Dogs do get sad and miss us, but as long as they are shown attention and they are given hugs and kisses, they will be ok without us for a little bit. And just think about how excited both of you will be when you see him upon your return!!! :) I can understand being sad, though.

    Can you Skype with him?  I know that sounds silly, but my sister leaves her dogs at a doggy hotel that has webcams.  She feels connected when she can log in and see what Peeber and Gunner are doing while she's away.

    awww!!!! I feel the exact same way about Clyde!! We have to board him for the wedding weekend...and I'm so worried about him!!!!

    I'm sure he'll be having a freaking blast!! Remember he is crazy!! hahaha

    Aw what a cute idea- skyping- I'll have to see if they have one!

    So I guess if dogs are crazy, they'll be fine. Hmmm!!! I just hope he doesn't get into trouble like he always does. Haha!
