Rehearsal dinner invitations

When is a good time to send them out? Too soon & they will forget details, but too late and they might not have enough time to get off for travel, etc.

Re: Rehearsal dinner invitations

  • I'd say maybe a month out? I don't know, though-- good question! I'll watch this thread so I know what to tell my FILs.

  • I am sending them out in the beginning of September. I would send them out in the middle of Sept, but FMIL wants the rsvp date to be the end of Sept.

  • My FILs are planning to send about a month out. They don't have to give our venue a head count until a week before the dinner.
  • I'm planning on sending them a month before with an RSVP date of 1 week before. But we're also just hosting pizza and beer in the church common room so I don't have to confirm with a restaurant or anything.

  • I am sending them out with my invitations next week. Much of our bridal party and ceremony participants that would come to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are out of town, and will need to know to be there a day early and make hotel accommodations. We don't need an RSVP, so there's nothing to confirm with the restaurant as they don't need a head count.
  • I wasn't planning on sending out actual invitations for my rehearsal dinner, we don't have a wedding party and we're only inviting FI and my immediate family, our one living grandparent, and the JP. Do you think I'm wrong to not do invites?
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • I'm not sending out invitations for mine.  Everyone already knows that the rehearsal is the evening before the wedding.  I'll probably call everyone to remind them the week before and ask if they're coming.  We're not going to be doing anything too fancy (probably make a reservation at a local restaurant a month before with an estimated number that we can change).
