Buffet options -- set the table with plates to look nicer or not?

Hey~

We are having a buffet or possibly family style with a tuscan menu.  We were wondering if we should put the plates on the tables to make them look a bit nicer or would it be too much of a pain to have people carry their plates to the buffet?

What are you doing?? thoughts...ideas??

    We didn't.  We did set the drinks and silverware and napkins.  We put menus at each place setting.  We did oversized postcards from Vistaprint, so they were free, but looked nice.  There is a pic of our tables in my married bio under reception.

    I did, but I had a picnic reception so I placed the plates, cups, napkins and flatware in the tissue-lined baskets, and people either filled their plate or their basket with goodies. It made my tables look more complete, and I didn't have that stack of plates that everyone else touched before you at the buffet. I have photos in my bio.

    We are -- our caterer suggested it as they think it looks nicer, and I agree.   There will be extra plates up at the buffet in case people don't grab theirs.
