Anyone watching?

I forgot about it last night, but after reading raves about it on FB from my music teacher friends, I had to watch.

Plus, the Bubs came to our Invitational one year. Obviously not these same kids - god, they look young! But they've always been tight.

I used to go to a capella concerts in college every semester. We had a few really great groups and my friend was in one of them.

There is a group of women from Baltimore on that show. They were just on the local news last night.

It's on right now--and Im loving it. Rich was in an a cappella group in college--and has the most amazing voice; the show really hits home for him.

Plus, he claims he was the first one to arrange "Africa" for an a cappella group--and is hoping someone sings it.

I love a cappella. I have the Straight No Chaser Christmas cd in my car right now

I tried to watch last night, but couldn't stand the fake drama of the show or that female judge, whoever she was, I forget her name. Ben Folds is so cute though.

Oh really? The guys group at my school did Africa ages ago, back in the 90s.

I'm sure his arrangement is great, though!

Oh yes, and I definitely love Ben Folds! He's such a dork and I love it. It's so refreshing to hear well spoken, actual MUSICAL comments rather than "it was pitchy".

Ahhh! The 'chingers'....haha, I knew exactly what he was talking about, having sung a cappella stuff. "Raise your hand if you sang ching in that song" - wonderful. Ben Folds just jumped up higher on my 'to do' list. Oh, and the comment about what we train to do...thank you for acknowledging that this shiit takes WORK.

He has all of his old a cappella group's CD cases--but can't, for the life of him, find their actual CD. I really want to track it down for him for the wedding.

He also put out his own CD. He's a bit amazing.

I just got up to this b/c I paused it when I was on the phone.

I was pleasantly surprised, actually. The arrangement was pretty good and a nice cross over for a barbershop group.

Their outfits suck, though.
