Pocket for invitation

I am trying to design my invite through mygatsby. I like the idea of doing the poket for the invite and rsvp card but why order the pocket through them, if I can get a good deal on some from a different website. Question is: What size pocket would I use for a 5.50" by 7.50" invite? It confused me on the website because it would show a 6" x 9" pocket invitation yet say the card size was 5.25" x 7.25." Any help would be welcomed. Also, what's a good estimate for invites? I am a new bride-to-be and have no clue! :( help!

    Agree with pp.

My pockets were 5"x7" and the matted card was 4"x6" so that the pocket "showed" as 1/2" border around the card.

I DIYed my kangaroo/panel pockets. If you're intersted in DIYing; look at my pics/instructions in my bio.

Otherwise, a lot of ladies here recommend ordering pre-made pockets from cardsandpockets.com.

I used a 5x7 pocket and 1/4 inch smaller all around for backing and another 1/4 inch smaller all around for the invite.

  • Also, be aware the even if you want your invites to be the same dimensions at your pocket they will need to be slightly smaller because the pocket will not fold correctly (as in with a 5x7 pocket if your invite is exactly 5x7 the pocket will not close without folding the invite slightly at the edge). I would advise ordering samples first if your going to order invites from one site and pockets from other. (If your DIYing you can just design your pocket around the invite size.)
