Low key DJ

Hey there- I am starting my search for a DJ and am looking for recommendations.  My fiance and I are very much music people and are creating a "PLAY" and "DO NOT PLAY" list for the wedding.  We want a DJ that will specifically work from these lists and not spend time on the mic trying to "Get the party started".  Anyone have any suggestions?

    We used the DJ Solution.  They're a husband and wife team out of Poughkeepsie, and they were great to work with! They're not cheesy at all, and really sat down with us to talk about how we wanted them to act.  They played all of our requested songs.  I'm not sure we really had a "Do Not Play" list, but they were willing to have one.  They also talked to us about people requesting songs like the electric slide and stuff like that and if we wanted them to tell them no, or to play them if people asked them to.  I highly recommend them!

    Thanks!  A lot of people seem to like them, unfortunately they're not available on my date.  Clearly there are people out there way more prepared than I am!

    We are going to book Elite Sound Entertainment in Saddle Brook, NJ for exactly those reasons too.  My fiance is very big into music and wanted to make sure they stick to our list.  We read great reviews of them and a few friends of ours have used them.

    We used Big Apple Entertainment in Larchmont. VERY reasonable price, very very nice guys, and did exactly what we asked for and stuck to our play/do not play lists to the T.

    We're using Carol from A Starry Night (NYC) - a big selling point for us was that she does not make announcements (unless the bride and groom request them) and is totally open to us having play/do not play lists.

    We are using Much Music by Larry Mulligan.  He has been great so far and will do the wedding however you and your FI want it.  I know he was totally open to a do and do not play list.  Good luck in your search :)

    We used Music by Frances and Danielle and we're very happy with them. They are a mother/daughter team who will be as low key or over the top as you'd like. We wanted somewhere in the middle and Frances was great! They were very reasonably priced 4 yrs ago, I'd imagine they still are.

    Sarabeth...we used spinnig with style and he too tailors it to however you want it.
    i also know that last year at the bridal show frances and danielle were about $850
