    Hi! I'm at work until 1030 tonight (It's just after 7 here).. I'm tired. Had a bit of a pity party day for myself today, and I'm still all weird about it. Meh.

    Nates, I used to think I wanted to teach high school English. Then I realized I had no idea how to manage a classroom with kids taller than me. I even subbed 5th grade and couldn't handle the attitudes. Do you have any students that just don't care? How do you make them interested? Sorry, I have lots of teacher questions.

    No prob, I don't mind questions.

    It's hard.  Luckily, I work in a really good district in terms of students (as in, no gangs, limited drugs, etc).  That helps.  The issue I face is apathy and entitlement.  I've found that once my kids realize I will enforce limits, they straighten up.  Some still fail due to sheer laziness or lack of motivation, but I try to talk as much sense into them as I can.  It also helps that I have a reputation in school now.  My first few years were rough--one year I had a kid two years younger than me in class!

    KW - My friend told us she was pregnant when her baby was the size of an Olive. The baby is now 1 and a half and we still call her Olive!! Also glad you're embracing the morning sickness - go baby go!!

    Yeah, that makes sense. That must have been weird being onlly 2 yrs older than a student! I guess it all depends on the group you have. I can get a class full of 6 yr olds  to pay attention to me, but I'd be lost in a room full of teenagers. Of course, I also spend half my day reminding them how to follow directions, so every age has their ups and downs I suppose :)

    Definitely.  I worked with 5-10 year olds for years and loved them (resident camp/teaching lessons).  I love my teenagers.  For me, middle school was the worst.  They're not quite adults, but they want to be.
