How much did your dress cost?

How much did you (or whoever paid for your dress) pay for it alone (without accessories)?

Re: How much did your dress cost?

  • I paid $400 for Maggie Soterro Capri Marie.
It was totally a God thing. The only time it had been worn was to get sized for alterations - which it was sized to my size! The girl who originally owned it (a friend of a friend) paid around $1300 for it.
With all accesorries included I personally paid around 530$.

Mine will be under $500 and I'm having it made custom.
  • I refused to try anything on that was $600+.  My dress was $599!!  Mori Lee 2105.  Beautiful!
    Anniversary
  • $1400. It is by Essence of Australia.

Trunk show, so I didn't have to pay tax (13% where I am), so that saved me a bit. I wasn't planning on spending over $1,000.00 but I had already found this dress online, had no idea what the price was, tried it on in the store and loved it. My mom ended up paying for the veil I bought at the same time, and said she'd supplement the cost by helping us out a bit with the rest of the wedding (we were planning on paying for the entire thing ourselves at this point, so yay!).
  • $999.48 with tax! I told the consultant I wasn't paying a penny over $1,000. She made it work! The dress was originally $1,300 but there was some promotional sale going on, plus she gave me some extra discount so even having to add 3" to the hem wouldn't put me over $1,000. I love that girl lol. I have NO idea what alterations are going to cost though.
  • I got a Maggie Sottero at a trunk show so it was marked down to $630 and then an extra $75 for the bustle.
  • I haven't bought a dress yet, but I have a planned budget of $5000
  • On sale for 300 and an extra 20% off because I got it off the rack.  Great way to be under budget I had allotted 1400

I bought my dress at a trunk show and was given a 15% discount that was applied before tax was added. Tax in my area is about 10%. I've never heard of trunk sales being tax-free, but the discount usually makes up for it.
