Caterers in Portland

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if any of you know of a good caterer that isn't too expensive and allows us to use outside alcohol?  I've been looking in all the usual places, google, onwed, etc.  but they are either outside of our price range or only allow alcohol through them.

Also have you guys found that it's cheaper to order rentals through the caterer or on wour own?  I'd really appreciate any help you could give me.

Thank you!
Brynn

A friend recommended Simply Thyme Catering in Vancouver - they catered a wedding she went to in Eugene and she said the food was excellent.

What would you think of take out?  I know that Olive Garden offers this.  We used this service 3 years ago at a work function and it was less expensive than eating in their restaurant.  I thought that it was cheap, actually.

You could hire staff to serve and restock the buffet, waiters to clear tables and a bartender to serve the alcohol.

Most caterers would have to mark up their prices for rentals.  To keep it cheap, check with your caterer for prices of rental through them, and compare going thru Portland Party Place or somewhere like that.

    Just another thought.

PP is right, restaurant catering can be great. We are using Romano's Macaroni Grill for buffet dinner and our own alcohol with a bartender friend serving. Macaroni Grill will be only like 13.50 a head or so for delicious food, plus it was where we had our first date :D

Nicolette's Catering is amazing! Nikki is awesome to work with and very reasonable in price. Also allows outside alcohol.
Once you meet her and taste her food you will know right away to choose her! They do a great tasting too. You won't be disappointed!

James is the owner and caters to my work.  He is VERY reasonable price wise and one of the nicest guys.  He is a fabulous cook and has a wide range of different types of food.

    Check him out.
