Yesterday morning I wrote on the Facebook wall of three of my close friends, "I hate to ask this but can you please mail the RSVP for my wedding? We need to have the final head count by Dec. 17. Thanks! I hope you can make it!"
I didn't think this was rude----do you? The rsvp date is Thursday the 15th and we still have about 16 outstanding. And I thought that these particular friends of mine wouldn't care if I kindly reminded them to send it.
However, the wife of my guy friend who I used to be best friends with wrote the following, "Thought that's why the RSVP was due by the 15th. So you'd have your number on time. Today is the 12th."
I responded with, "It was just a friendly reminder."
Then he wrote today, "We'll try to get the RSVP in the mail by the due date. But if we can't, I'll let you know so that you can send us an Evite Invitation to your wedding so we can let you know if we are coming or not"
Then I said, "There won't be an Evite for the wedding. If you can't get it in the mail in time, just let me know by calling me or texting.
Yes, I do create Evites for little get together's I have at my house but they are for very informal events. Why would I have an Evite for a wedding?!!!! Was he joking with me because he knows I like to send Evites or was he being serious that he wants an Evite? And why was his wife so rude to me? I have been nothing but nice to her (even though I can't stand her). And him and I used to be super close. From the age of 17-28 we talked on the phone almost everyday! Now he's acting super weird. UGH! I don't understand why he is acting this way and it’s making me mad.
