Reception Sites

Anyone been to/having their wedding at/have an opinion about the following reception sites:

Danversport Yacht Club
Nahant Country Club
Spinelli's in Lynnfield

My fiance and I are going to talk to these three places, but would like some feedback from people who have been there.

Thanks!

Have you thought of cafe Escadrille in Burilington? That is where we are having ours. It is a wonderful place and the food is to die for! Not to mention their wedding package includes alot of things that would be considered "extra" elsewhere. One of the things I really like is that they only do one wedding a day so you would have the whole place to yourself. Laughing

Ours is at the Escadrille too! Their prices look high initially but once you figure in the "extras" mentioned above it's so worth it! Spinellis has great food but the only do a package so you have limited vendors to pick from.

Danvers POrt Yatch club is beautiful.. but I went to prom there when I Was in high school, same thing with the Hyatt on the water.. so those were no nos for me. But I will say they are both beautiful places. And I also think the Escadrille is lovely too. I am getting married at the Ocean View Inn in Gloucester. Thank goodness next year because it was on the news last night that the roof blew off the building!!!

Danversport Yacht Club - One of my favs.  Gorgeous inside, gorgeous outside.  My friend had her wedding there and it was beautiful, great coordinator (this was 4 years ago) and good food.

Nahant Country Club - Never been, but looks pretty.

Spinelli's in Lynnfield - Very pretty, in the back on the lake, nice rooms for the reception but for me wasn't a big fan of it being on Route 1.  Also my friend had her wedding there while another was going on downstairs - the wedding downstairs was having their cocktail hour in the lobby...well we thought it was my friends wedding and there me and my parents are eating the apps for the other wedding! No signs or anyone directing us to go upstairs - so it was a big unorganized.  Finally we saw her dad and he was like "um its upstairs" lol But still - nice venue.

I am partial to the danversport because I am getting married there!! its absolutely beautiful, and the food is great.  I have been to a function at spinelli's and the food was great as well....very pretty, but again, Rt 1 can be a tough ride depending on when/where your ceremony is.

I've been part of a wedding at Nahant Country Club.  It was beautifully done.  Food was great, and their dessert room is fun!

I considered all of these places.  The only reason I didn't pick Danversport is because my wedding wasn't big enough to be in the upstairs (big) ballroom with the pretty chandeliers.  We would have been downstairs in the room with the low ceilings.

I think the location of Spinelli's is actually a plus.  It's easy to get to and easy to find.  Easy parking.  If you have out of town guests, they can stay at the Hampton Inn across the highway (free shuttle).

I didn't like the Nahant Country Club because the dining room was split up, and some people were downstairs and some upstairs.  I didn't like the separation.  Also, Nahant is very out of the way, a pain to get to because you have to drive through Lynn or Swampscott to get there.  Also, no hotels nearby.
