    I'm newly engaged and probably overzealous, I'm sorry.  I think I was just so excited about the offer from our parents that I wanted to shout from the rooftop and thought a wedding forum would be an appropriate place.  I didn't mean to sound like I was showing off I was just trying to make a point that no matter what your budget is you can always think of things to splurge on. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

    However anyone felt, offended, insulted, annoyed, etc I'm sorry. I understand that around here talking about how much money can be saved is acceptable, but saying how much money you spent is considered bragging.

    I would be just annoyed if you ran into a sky's the limit thread and spouted off about how you did your WHOLE wedding for $658.32!

    It's all about context.  How did stating your very above average budget move the thread forward or help out other people?  It didn't.  It was just an opportunity for you to brag. 

    If you had gone into a thread where the question is, "what's your budget?" to which you responded, "$80,000."  You would have gotten no flak (from me anyway).  That's your budget, and that's fine.

    If you want to talk about how much money you spend, have at it.  No one is saying you shouldn't.  Your statement was simply out of place in <em><strong>this </strong></em>thread, and, honestly, reveals a little about you.

    No need to say anything. Learn and move on. Most people correct other or point out problems/offences/etc so that posters can learn what is/is not acceptable, not just to be a b!tch or whatever. Although, that happens too. Message boards are just like any other social enviornment.
