Age: 31

How did you meet your FI? One of his friends saw me at one of my volunteer gigs and told him I was someone he should date. He waved her off saying that I probably was married or had a boyfriend. Fast forward 10 months, a friend of mine recommended that I read a blog she found and I loved it. I emailed the author and we started a friendship via email, then phone and finally decided to meet for a drink. He turned out to be the guy who saw me at my volunteer gig.

When is/was your wedding (date)? November 10, 2012

What do you love about your FI? He is so sweet and considerate, he is incredibly well read and able to converse on virtually any topic and he makes me laugh.

What do you wish was different about your FI? I wished he didn't smoke

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? Choosing the invitations

Hobbies: Reading, Volunteering and I LOVE to cook & bake.

Pets (bonus points for PIP): Not anymore, but I grew up with both dogs and cats.

Things you like: Relaxing rainy days, the excitement I get from getting a new cooking utensil and being able to laugh for no reason.

Things you don't like: Broccoli, I try but it tastes like I am taking a bite out of someone's front lawn.

Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why? I can't choose. I love them both...dogs love to rough house and play and cats love to cuddle. I am sucker for both.

When is/was your wedding (date)? 12/7/12

What do you love about your FI? He is such a sensitive, loving man. He's crazy smart. An amazing cook. And a huge geek. These are just a few of the things I love about him.

What do you wish was different about your FI? That he wasn't so hard on himself.

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? Knowing that at the end of everything I'll be his Mrs.

Hobbies: Volunteering, reading, video games.

Pets (bonus points for PIP): Blueberry Bubble Eyes and Shaggydog ..they're blackmoore fish.

Things you like: Reading, horror movies, people watching, rainy days.

Things you don't like: Being hot or sweaty. Bugs.

Thank you! I have people who look at me crazy sometimes asking if it's true, especially after I tell them that the volunteer gig he saw me at was when I was working at a historical cemetery that gives tours, etc.

Age: almost 24 (okay, not until June).

How did you meet your FI?: We met at our undergrad college. We both worked at the library together.

When is/was your wedding (date)?: Right now it's planned for October 12, 2013, but we might push it back more.

What do you love about your FI?: I love that he treats me well, he has a great sense of humor, and he is a really good cook.

What do you wish was different about your FI?: I wish he wasn't so analytical about everything.

What's your favorite part about planning a wedding?: Looking at all of the pictures and getting a sense of the type of wedding I want (I still don't know exactly what I want. My preferences change every month).

Hobbies: Reading, shopping, spending time with my family, college

Pets: I have one cat - Furcat. See my sig - he's a cutie.

Things you like: Cake, watching TV, my laptop, going on vacation, going to the movies, playing board games

Things you don't like: Vegetables, a messy apartment, noisey neighbors, ignorant people

Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why? I prefer cats. They are just so furry and cuddly and perfect. Dogs are nice too, but they always have a lot of energy and drool a lot. I don't like when dogs slobber on me.

How did you meet your FI? Match.com! I actually had a really back break up with some one I'd met on match right before I met my Patrick and I was about an hour away from giving it up and deleting my account and he "winked" at me...almost 2 yrs later and we're getting ready to spend the rest of our lives together!

When is/was your wedding (date)? September 1, 2012

What do you love about your FI? EVERYTHING!!! I love how close he is with his family, I love how he was so happy and proud to introduce me to them after we met. I love his confidence and how he always wants to kiss me and I love that we love eachother unconditionally.

What do you wish was different about your FI? I could do without the fart jokes...LOL

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? I love the whole process, I think I found my new calling in life lol! I really haven't been stressed at all, well until I have to pull out the check book!

Hobbies: Reading, painting, crafting

Pets (bonus points for PIP): None yet =( we live with his parents right now to save for the wedding but when we have our own place I'm sure we'll have at least a dog and a cat!

Things you like: Watching TV/Movies late at night cuddled up on the couch, cooking together (better yet, me letting him work his kitchen magic!) Coffee oreo ice cream, family and friends

Things you don't like: nascar, the yankees (FI is a yankees fan...I'm a Boston girl) snow storms that aren't bad enough for me to stay home from work!

Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why? I have had great dogs and great cats! I love them both!

Tell us something random: I love how time is flying until our wedding! It seems like just last week we were getting engaged and now we only have about 4 months to go!

How did you meet your FI? I actually whent on a date with a friend of his first and the 2nd time he invited me out he took me bowling with a couple his buddies (my fiance, Keith being one of them). I was immediately attracted to Keith. Brian is a great guy, but we knew we weren't compatible as a couple. I actually found Keith on myspace (back when it was cool) and initiated going out on a date.

When is/was your wedding (date)? June 16, 2013

What do you love about your FI? He is a selfless person. Usually makes his decisions based first on how it will affect others. He is not at all jealous. He is very supportive of my hobby/obsession/side business (breeding, showing, training horses).

What do you wish was different about your FI? I wish he wanted to ride with me, but the horses just isn't his thing! But he tries to be involved.

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? I love that it can be however you want it! You can do the same old things that have been done time & time again or you can march to the beat of your own drum.

Hobbies: Riding horses, hiking, working out, concerts, helping Keith brew his beer.

Pets (bonus points for PIP): We have 5 horses: Joker, Windy, Sierra, Tramp & Thomas (2 on the way) and 8 dogs: Oscar, Bailey, Amber, Lindy, Avery, Fatty, Whitey & Hamtaro.

Things you like: Sushi, rodeo, being around my friends, going to the horse races, cooking.

Things you don't like: Onions, rain, cold weather, liar, flakes, people who cut you off when you're driving, traffic.

Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why? Dogs, because nothing beats the excitement of a dog when you get home from being gone...whether it was 5 minutes or 5 hours.

Tell us something random: Today is a typical sunny southern california day...I love it!

LOL!!! The only place i can find it is at Kimball Farm Dairy Bar (local MA place) they make their own icecream and it is to die for!!!! Hopefully you can find a brand that makes it!

How did you meet your FI? We met in high school. We were both involved in a one act play- I tried out for a part on stage and he was supposed to be the behind the light board, but we were one MAN short, and I can't act, so the director put me behind the light board and forced him on stage. He spent the next 3 months telling me that I was doing his job allllll wrong, and we hated each other. 6 months later we were dating, and we've been inseparable ever since.

When is/was your wedding (date)? June 30th, 2012

What do you love about your FI? He is a super nerd.

What do you wish was different about your FI? Sometimes he doesn't know when to stop with a joke or an argument and it just goes too far.

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? Thinking about how awesome it is going to be and having all the people I love there with me, especially friends and family and thinking about all the things we're going to do to make the day special, not only for me but for our guests (late night karaoke and pizza, hell yes!)

Hobbies: I've done karate for the last 12 years.

Pets (bonus points for PIP): I don't currently have any pets, but I used to have a hedgehog named Turbo.

Things you like: school, sleep, friends, karate, baking.

Things you don't like: people who think wearing leggings is the same thing as wearing pants.

Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why? I like both, but I'm mildly allergic to cats and FI is very allergic to cats, so I'd have to say dogs win out on this one.

Tell us something random: Totally random? I'm eating lunch right now. Wedding random? This year is our wedding, both of our parents 25 anniversaries, and my grandparents' 50th anniversary. How cool is that?

How did you meet your FI? I was his intern. We worked in groups and our group was him (new hire), someone who had been there a year, a senior, a manager, and the partner. I was seeing someone else when we first met, but when that ended I gave him a call.

When is/was your wedding (date)? June 2, 2012 (6X2=12)

What do you love about your FI? he is very caring and compassionate

What do you wish was different about your FI? I wished he lived in the same state.

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? Getting RSVP cards back is pretty exciting.

Hobbies: enjoying nature, reading

Pets (bonus points for PIP): 1 dog - Oscar, 1 horse - Bandit, I have 5 cats (Friday is in my siggy), FI has 3 cats and is foster 2 for friends of his.

How did you meet your FI? We went to high school together, and met back up on Facebook 17 years later.

When is/was your wedding (date)? September 2, 2012

What do you love about your FI? EVERYTHING!!!! he balances me

What do you wish was different about your FI? Sometimes he is way to laid back.

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? FI is counting down each day closer..... and just sharing the planning process with him and our families.

Hobbies: With work and 4 kids, I don't have time for hobbies. I do write poetry when I get the chance.

Pets (bonus points for PIP): A Maine Coon cat. He is 22 pounds, and acts like a dog.

Things you like: walking on the beach, romantic movies, starbucks

Things you don't like: being late, getting woken up, chinese food

Coffee Oreo ice cream... I thought I was the only one who had stumbled on this pot of gold. It is the best ice cream!!! I'm about 25 minutes away from Kimballs, but I venture out of my way at least three times a year for it.

How did you meet your FI?
when we were both still in high school, he got a job at the truck stop where I worked. I walked in the breakroom some reese's cups I was about eat and he begged me not to open them because he is severely allergic to peanuts and forgot his epi-pen that day. We always joke about how I almost killed him the first time we met.

When is/was your wedding (date)?
April 27, 2012.

What do you love about your FI?
So much, he's been there for me at all hours of the night when I was going trhoug some tough things, he was and still is my best friend.

What do you wish was different about your FI?
He doesn't think before he speaks, most often. He doesnt know when to stop, either so when he says something stupid he wont just drop it. I

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding?
Knowing that it will lead to us being husband and wife.

Hobbies:
FI and myself are both writers. Right now he is working on a book and I am doing the editing.

Pets (bonus points for PIP):
I have a cat named Nicole but she lives with my mom now. I have a bischon named Yoshi.

Things you like: Napping, reading, being outside in nature.

Things you don't like:
I hate gravy. Seriously, the smell makes me want to vomit. Any kind of gravy but especially this country gravy FI loves.

Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why?
Cats, They can take care of themselves for the most part, but are still snuggly. My dog is more high maintainece than my toddler. But since FI and our son are very allergic to cats, I have to settle for my overly needy dog.

How did you meet your FI? Online through plentyoffish.com

When is/was your wedding (date)? November 16, 2013 (Just booked our venue last week!)

What do you love about your FI? His kind heart! He is the sweetest man I've ever met! He is a wonderful man and loves a lot of the same things I do. He loves our dogs and cats as much as I do and I know he is going to make an awesome dad if we decide to have kids one day! And he has amazing blue eyes!

What do you wish was different about your FI? Sometimes he is lazy and unmotivated when it comes to cutting the grass or help me with cleaning the house. I would like it if he stood up to his mom when she makes snarky comments about me or our wedding.

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? The excitement! We have only just booked our venue last week but I'm already getting excited for trying on dresses at the end of this year!

Hobbies: Horseback riding, taking our dogs for walks, drawing/sketching, going for long drives (if that's a hobby lol!)

Pets (bonus points for PIP):

  These are our cats (from left to right): Mac (who passed away over a year ago from cancer), The Babies (yup, that's her name and I don't know why lol!), and Angel

Things you like: Warm sunny days so I can take a book outside on my back deck and read for hours while the dogs play, having my mom come over and cook (who doesn't love moms cooking!?!), and vegging on the couch watching Coronation Street on a Sunday morning!

Things you don't like: How much dog and cat hair flow through my house on a daily basis, I have to swiffer at least once a day. People who judge people on their appearance. Brussel sprouts. Nagging FI to cut the grass. People who are mean to animals - Those people I could do very mean things to.

How did you meet your FI?
I worked with his sister at my first job in h.s. and we would hang out after work at their house... we were around eachother but not really friends, then a couple years later I was sort of dating his roomate, so I was over there a bunch, (the roomate was actually my frist kiss. LOL. we are both still good friends with him) fast forward about 5 years and his sister moved back into town after being away for college and he and I reconnected hanging out with her one night 2 1/2 years ago. He finally asked me out and we've been together ever since

When is/was your wedding (date)? 11/10/12

What do you love about your FI? How genuine he is, and that he makes me laugh. We both can just be ourselves (no matter how dorky we can be sometimes) aroudn one another

What do you wish was different about your FI?
He is very motivated when it comes to his future.. in talk, that is.. sometimes he doesn't move forward with the plans he has to better his job situation, etc. I think he gets scared about possible rejection

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding?
Figuring out the details.

Hobbies: Reading, movies, photography, scrapbooking, and off-road racing

Pets (bonus points for PIP): Two cats. Dont' knwo how to PIP, but I think they are my profile pict. The stripey one is Cozy and the Grey fluffy one who was ltitle in that pict is Crash, my 15 lb mainecoon mix. He's a big huge cuddlebug! LOL

Things you like: Relaxing, curling up reading a good book, being out in nature (when my allergies aren't driving me nuts!)

Things you don't like: I'm going to agree with a poster from above.. Leggings are not pants! LOL. Also, people who continuously complain about their life (job, relationship, etc) but refuse to do anythign to change it in any way

Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why? Cats only because they are less maintenance.. but I have had dogs my whole life and can't wait to move out of my condo into a house so we can get a couple!

Age: 28How did you meet your FI? At a Halloween party. He was very drunk and using an awful English accent. Instant and complete physical attraction, and here we are almost 4 years later. When is/was your wedding (date)? November 3, 2012, just after our 4th anniversary. And the Saturday before the presidential election. Woot!What do you love about your FI? He is incredibly loyal. He is the person I call if I needed to hide a dead body. What do you wish was different about your FI? I wish he took criticism better and wasn't so hard on himself. Especially with him being in the military that sometimes makes things a million times harder than they are. What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? So far, I've had great experiences dress shopping. I like dressing up, so it's fun. But ask me again after I go try on things with my mother. Hobbies: I garden, well, I have plants in pots that I try not to kill. I also love to cook. He's just about 10 months now, we got him when he was 8 weeks. The cat is Huck Finn. I found him abandoned as a kitten when I was in college, and he'll be seven at the beginning of August. Things you like: I love blue cheese, the stinkier the better. Also, rainy days (which are rare here in Texas where we're living), farmer's markets, and LUSH bath stuff. And nail polish. So much nail polish. And vintage hats. Things you don't like: I am really really bad at certain parts of cleaning, simply because I don't like them. I clean things like dishes and bathrooms, because I don't like things to be dirty, but everything else, I'm just pretty unorganized. And I hate dusting. Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why? I would have always said I'm a cat person until about a year ago. And even then I always preferred dogs who acted like cats because they're generally pretty low maintenance. And they're chill, and will come and love on you, but they don't require heaps of attention. Then we got Archie. He's nuts and has taken forever to even get basic training and he has to walk at least 30 minutes a day. And I love him. So, we're thinking of getting another dog in a year or so, once this one grows up a bit. Tell us something random: I will go up to 30 minutes out of my way to avoid driving on an interstate. Which sucks because where we live right now (San Antonio, TX) everything's on an interstate. I really don't like driving and didn't get my license til I was 21. My FI got his when he was 22.

How did you meet your FI? We have known each other since elementary school. But, in college we got reintroduced through a mutual friend... who was actually trying to to talk to him at the time. Funny how things turn out.

What do you love about your FI? His attention to detail, sense of humor, and how he loves me for me

What do you wish was different about your FI? He can be very shy in social situations, sometimes people think his shyness comes off rudness

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? Talking about it with my family, friends, and people at work, and to see everyone so excited for our big day

How did you meet your FI? We went to the same (small) college at the same time, but we didn't know each other then. Just knew of each other (it was that small). Then a couple years after graduation we ended up working at the same company together for awhile, where he had a huge crush on me but never let on. He tried to come back and visit/ask me out a few times after he quit, but chickened out every time. That was in about 1994. In 2010 he was poking around our school's facebook alumni page looking for his old roommates, and found me. Offered to take me out to dinner and the rest is history.

When is/was your wedding (date)? Still working on it, but hopefully spring of 2013.

What do you love about your FI? He has a kind heart and is quick to give people the benefit of the doubt (sometimes to a fault). He has an incredible way with words, especially when he's being sweet. He has a fantastic work ethic and feels a responsibility as the 'man of the house' without being sexist about it. He respects me as his equal but still feels protective of me. And he has the corniest sense of humor ever.

What do you wish was different about your FI? He has a very difficult time forgiving himself for things. He's a Republican (though I'm working on that). And he'd lose his head if it wasn't attached.

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? So far all of it, but we're just barely starting. I'm looking forward to creating something that really reflects us both.

Hobbies: Cooking, reading, beauty and makeup stuff. I like gardening but I can't tolerate heat well enough to do it.

Pets (bonus points for PIP): My cat Gracie. I'm freaking out about what to do because my future stepson is deathly allergic to cats, so she can't come with me. She's very very attached to me and hates all other people. I don't know anyone who can take her so I'm really scared about how to provide for her. FI wants a dog so I'm sure we'll get one eventually.

Things you like: My Fi, days off work, pedicures, chocolate, long drives with FI where we just talk the whole time.

Things you don't like: My job, cleaning, bills, cat barf, reptiles, broccoli.

How did you meet your FI? I was in an aol chat room, looking for suggestions on fun places to hang out after I moved to an area I didn't know very well. He sent me a private message and one thing led to another and here we are.....

When is/was your wedding (date)? 4/14/13

What do you love about your FI? There is not a mean bone in his body. No matter how tired, broke, or stressed out he is, he ALWAYS makes time when someone needs help, needs to talk, or needs him in some way. He would do anything for the ones he loves.

What do you wish was different about your FI? I wish he was better at cleaning up after himself. Doesn't take but 2 seconds to put your empty water bottle in the recycle can or to put the empty toilet paper roll that you just changed into the garbage.

What's your favorite part of planning a wedding? Aside from the fact that we're not doing the typical cookie cutter wedding, I love all the little touches that incorporate who we are and what we like.

Hobbies: reading, cooking, and trying to be a good mommy to our daughter, who is almost 5.

Pets (bonus points for PIP): none. However, at my daughter's request, we just bought a plastic fish bowl with a plastic fish that swims around when you turn it on. lol

Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why? I like cats because they pretty much keep to themselves and take care of themselves. They're not as needy as dogs and I'm the type of person who doesn't want to have to stop and pet a dog, play fetch, go for a walk, etc when I'm in the middle of doing something.

Tell us something random: For 8 years, I lived in an apartment that was haunted. Even dd saw "the man" that she later told us was named Bill. He would turn on her musical toys during the night - in the same order that they were lined up on the shelf or on the floor. He turned down our thermostat, even after I put clear tape over it. He bent one of my Christmas candy cane decorations in half. We would often hear him walking up and down the hallway. Strangely, he never hurt us - he just liked to be recognized and once I started talking out loud to him, he would go away for a while, then come back for more fun. I never actually SAW him, but all the kids in the family did, and he was always in the same spot in the kitchen. When that apartment flooded and we had to move out, he was mad. He kept slamming cabinets and turning lights on and off and knocking boxes over. I don't think he wanted us to go. Hopefully, the new occupants are nice to him so he can be happy again.
